Merhaba! We have just returned from a wonderful 2wk holiday with our 6 kids & they all want to return asap! Aged 4-14 Aqua Fantasy catered for all their needs. We cannot fault the hotel, it was clean, safe & secure. We found the reps very helpful & the staff very hospitable. We all tried to learn a bit of Turkish, the staff helped with our tutition & we feel they approved of our efforts. We had a trip into Kusadasi & went on the half day excursion to Ephesus. We also tried out the peddlos at the beach & had a day trip to Samos on the ferry. The rest of the time was spent chilling by one of the 6 pools in the hotel & of course in the Aqua Park, what great fun that was! We only used the kids club once & found them very useful. The all inclusive food & drink was always plentiful, a real plus when you've got 6 kids. We will find it very difficult to top this holiday resort... THANK U Aqua Fantasy. Guli Guli

It was an amazing holiday, with lots to do and the staff were realy fun and lively! I would love to go back and I'm sure I will! The food was great and the rooms were comfortable. Me, my sister and cousine had the best time of our lives there. The scenery was realy nice! The water park was great fun, one of the best things there. Most of all I loved the evening entertainment! Can't wait to go back!

We have just returned from 2weeks of pure relaxation. the hotel is clean friendly and beautiful with so much to do in resort. I have a 4yr old and her needs were catered for brilliantly. first choice had a kids club run by a girl who goes by the name of silly Billy. I can not praise her enough. nvq level 3 trained and super with children of all ages and behaviours. for a few hours each day she would look after my daughter and other children allowing for total relaxation without worry. activities were planned and carried out in a safe environment second to none.
evening entertainment was super with a different show each night of the week and a kids disco from 9-9.30. this did get a bit boring after a while though.
there is also a kids buffet from 6.30- 8.45. this allows you to get yourself ready in peace and have a meal on your own whist the children eat between 6.30- 7ish and then watch a movie with kid's club staff. they are then all brought to the amphitheatre for the disco. on occasions my daughter didn't wish to stay, she was brought directly to me by a member of the kid's team.

as for the hotel - super. not as big as I first thought but has all the facilities you'll need. (it is actually very large though easily catering for allow the guests) food was super wide variety but more or less every day same variety. staff were friendly and polite always willing to help.

the beach although not the best was very pleasant. a wide variety of sports available canoe and pedalos free. life jackets are provided for children and anyone who wishes to have one. the water although not always clear was clean with little current. it is sandy and shallow perfect for little ones.

we went on a few day trips but to be honest you really never need leave the hotel and water park. however one disadvantage was its distance from Kusadasi town and Selcuk. taxi is about £10 each way.

I would recommend this holiday to any family/group or couple.

What a wonderful experience

from WilsonTurkey
I took my two neices to this resort on 2 September for 1 week, and I was very impressed with the whole atmosphere. The people, the staff, the entertainment, the food, the cleaniness of the hotel and rooms were excellent.

My nieces loved all the entertainment available and there was something for all ages to participate in, (nieces are 15 & 8). It was just a shame we only stayed for a week, as it was not long enough!!!

I plan to return again next year with my nieces at their request as we enjoyed it so much. My 8 year old niece even took part in the performance of CATS which she enjoyed and the entertainment staff looked after her very well.

Everybody was so very friendly from the resturant staff, the cleaners, reception staff and the entertainers.

We flew with First Choice who were in fact an excellent choice and the Reps in the hotel looked after us very well.

The theme park was well equiped and great fun, even I enjoyed the water slides!! The whole area was very clean and children friendly.

Overall I found Turkey and the hospitality of the people overwhelming, and look foward to the experience again next year.

Nice hotel...shame about the staff!

from Blartfast
We stayed in this resort for 2 weeks in August 2006 - 2 Adults and 2 children.

First let me point out that we went to Lykia World in 2001 which was wonderful, so Aqua Fantasy had a lot to live up to!

We stayed in the new part of the hotel which had only been open for a few weeks. We found it to be clean - the rooms were cleaned every day, although the room was a bit cramped for 4 people.

When we arrived at 4am there were only 1 or 2 porters on duty to cater for a bus load of people! The rooms are not easy to find - I don't know how they worked out the room numbering system! We spent 15 minutes trying to find our room - bumping into many others doing the same! The front desk weren't that helpful. Our room had not been set up for 4 - the sofa bed had no sheets and another visit to reception was made to request some. However they arrived within 10 minutes.

The pools are great. However they were spoiled by the non-stop rap music favoured by the bar staff. This was played at fairly high volume all day long. (With the bass turned up full). I enjoy music and would have been very happy had they chosen some more mainstream music that more people would have enjoyed.

Another problem with the bar staff has already been highlighted in another review; Children don't get served. They are ignored. Not just when adults are waiting for drinks. Even if they are the only ones waiting, they won't get served! My wife had a heated argument with one of the bar staff when she had to go to help our 8 year old daughter who had been waiting for 10 minutes for a drink, when all the adults around her were being served. The bar manager just argued back!

The food gets very monotonous after one week. The same thing gets served for lunch and dinner. It is all quite bland. We went to the Italian speciality resaurant one night. It was ok but again uninspiring, and put us off trying the other speciality restaurants. (The children's spaghetti nepolitana looked like chow mein! The Panna cotta was like blancmange!)

The free wine is undrinkable! The only people you see drinking wine are the ones that have just arrived! You can buy bottles of wine from the bar for about 12€ which are drinkable! The beer is good.

Don't bother with the First Choice trip to Ephesus. They wanted £47 for the trip for our family. We got the dolmus and paid the 6€ entrance (chidren are free). The dolmus back brought the trip to a grand total of £13! Other First Choice trips are better value though. Although we did none of them, the price was more in line with what we paid locally.

The water park was fantastic. We found the best time to go was about an hour before closing ( about 6:00) There were no queues and the pool staff were not bothered about my 6 year old going down the slides that he was not tall enough for!

I must just mention the Yucca restaurant in Kusadasi if (when!) you need a rest from the hotel food. They serve chinese, italian, turkish, indian and dutch food! We visited for my son's birthday. They picked us up from the hotel for free, dropped us back for free, gave the children free balloons and gave us a free bottle of wine in a presentation box. I thought this would be a cheap local wine, but when I opened it, it was a bottle of the same wine that I had ordered with our meal. It had not been cheap! The waiter was excellent, the food was excellent and the singer got all the guests to sing happy birthday to my son as he was presented with his birthday cake with sparklers on top!

All in all, a good holiday, but the Aqua Fantasy staff need some customer relations training!

Great

from nhalfyard
I have just returned from the Aqua Fantasy Resort and my friend and I had a fab time. The only problem was our air con was broken but wasnt too bad as it gets cool in the evening anyway. Dont touch the mini bar as we managed to run up a bit of a bill!! The all inclusive finishes too early it should be until at least 12.00 as the disco only just opens at 11.00 and it is expensive to buy drinks. The resort was so clean you couldnt fault it and the staff there were so friendly. The transfer was a bit long and the airport was boring and very expensive. Make sure you take English money the Turkish love English currency, they also take Euro's as well as their own currency (very confusing)!.

Me and mybest hotel in turkey

from aquagirl06
My partner and i stayed at the aqua fantasy hotel and we loved it, although the beer was'nt too nice (efes) but the cans that u buy in the aqua park were a lot nicer, but a little more expensive. I have been searching for a turkish night food recipe, which we had for the first time on entering the club hotel for turkish night on wednesday 6th sept 06, it was made of ground raw mince with chilli powder and served in a lettuce leaf but cannot find it here in england uk, it was given with a glass of raki. (Any ideas anyone if so email me at renegade190@hotmail.com.
Anyway apart from that we had a good time getting to know the staff at the world hotel aqua fantasy, i do miss not taking the children as they would have loved the park and the swimming pools and the beach. We did not think the beach would have so much golden sand. I would return there with all my family, but go with another travel company so we can land at a nearer airport as bodrum is at least 2 1/2 hrs away from the hotel and after flying for 3 1/2 hrs b4 that journey it does take the energy out of you.

Absolutely fantastic

from GJ234
We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Aqua Fantasy Resort in Kusadasi with First Choice, and we loved every bit of it, the flight times weren't the best but it didn't seem to bother the kids (10 & 7). We arrived at the Hotel at 06.30 in the morning after a 4 hour flight and a 2 hour coach drive from Bodrum airport, at check in we were driven to our Junior Suite by Golf Buggy and our baggage was brought round for us, which was most welcome, a small tip of 10 YTL (approx £3.30) was much appreciated by the staff member who brought round our cases. The room we were allocated was not what we expected, or what we had been led to believe was a Junior Suite, i went across to reception and told them the room was far too small for us and was not what i had paid extra for back in the UK ( 1 double bed, 1 single bed and a settee all in a row in a small room). I was told to come back to reception at 9.00am when the Manager would be in, this i did i explained my situation and was shown a much larger room in the main block and asked if this would suffice, which we were happy with and everything was moved into the new room for us.
When you are driven through Kusadasi (Aqua Fantasy is the last drop off) you can easily get the wrong impression, we did, but when we went into Kusadasi on the Dolmus on at least 3 occasions, we were dropped off in the centre of town, and it really is a nice place, indoor and outdoor markets, nice pedestrianised areas, and of course good old Burger King there to give the kids a change from the local cuisine, plenty of bars, we frequented Jimmy's Bar for the Football matches, it was fantastic (no Dutch).
Back at the hotel, the Staff are really friendly, and if you make an effort to speak a few pleasantries in Turkish as we did they really appreciate it and really look after you. The food was really good, as i said there were 4 of us( 2 adults and 2 kids) and not one of us struggled to find anything to eat as the variety was so good, many a time we didn't go in the restaraunt at lunch because the snacks were so nice at the pool bar, burgers, hot dogs, pizzas and chips not to mention the Turkish Pizzas they are lovely.
Drinks were also very good, with the exception of Fresh Orange Juice at breakfast that you have to pay for, this upset a few people but not us as there was Orange squash and Cherry squash or Milk for the kids and we were happy with our endless supply of Tea & Coffee, the lager is Efes and is a lovely drink unlike some other all inclusive resorts which tastes like it's been watered down, not here though, the local spirits were also nice but you have to realise they aren't going to give you Smirnoff & Bells etc, the Red and White wines are nice to drink at meal times, and we stayed on the wine all night on the odd occassion as they were quite nice.
The cleanliness of the Hotel is quite superb they are working hard all the time, everything is cleaned and cleaned really well, even the waiters are clearing plates and glasses away from your table as soon as they are empty, the dining room is really big and spacious and there is plenty of seating outside for the "al fresco" touch, although the frogs in the pond that the terrace is built on don't half make a racket, all meals are buffet style and you can go up and try as many of the dishes as you want, as often as you want, they have 4 a'la'carte Restaraunts on site, that we had every intention of trying out, but the food was that nice we didn't bother.
The Hotel has a water park next door that we have free use of all day every day, but the kids were more than happy playing in the two massive free form pools on the site that we only used the water park about 5 or 6 times in the fortnight we were there. The entertainment team are fantastic and it all happens by the pool near the beach, so much happening everyday except saturday when it's their day off. The beach isn't the best in the world, but they work hard to keep it as free from seaweed as best they can, it's also brilliant for water sports.
We didn't take advantage of the First Choice trips, other than the Horse Safari, as we explored the area around us by Dolmus (small bus), which was easy as they have a Dolmus Manager at the bus stop who talks to the drivers and books your seats and tells you how long before they arrive (they are every 12 mins) last one back from Kusadasi is midnight and the last one back from Selcuk is 22.30 pm, we went to Epheses, which is a ancient Roman City that was built BC, which was litterally about 10 mins on the Dolmus and it takes you straight to the gate, well worth doing yourself so easy and so cheap, about 2.5YTL on the bus (less than a quid) and 10YTL admission (about 3and half quid), we took in a leather factory whilst up at Epheses and treat ourselves to leather jacket each, we did some right barterring 620 euros down to 140 euros as it was their first sale of the day, and they are top quality, non of the cheap tack they are throwing at you in Kusadasi where they are 2 a penny, the Horse Safari was a real experince they took us through some lovely countryside and then down to the beach where the horses were unsaddled and played in the water, it was fantastic.
I am one of these people that is always ready for home after about 10 or 11 days but i can honestly say i really didn't want to come home from this holiday, and the family have all agreed it was the best holiday ever, we will certainly return to Aqua Fantasy one day.
Finally i would just like to say that the First Choice Rep JJ was absolutely brilliant, she was in the Hotel most days and her times and info are on her notice board with emergency tel nos etc should you need her out of these hours, if there is anything you want to know about the place or surrounding areas she was only too willing to help, thankyou JJ.

Great Place Really Enjoyed It!!!

We have just returned from the Aqua Fantasy and had a great time! We went with our 3 children aged 10, 9 & 4. The Family room we had was very spacious and very clean the maids came in every day to clean and put clean towels in they changed the linen every 3 days they also put flowers on the beds after making them and they were very nice ladys always polite. On arriving at the hotel the bell boys take your cases to your rooms which was very good. The grounds of the hotel are fantastic and very spacious there was alot of people staying there but never seemed alot in the day you didn't have to fight for the sun loungers you got them easy because the complex is so big.

The beach is not very nice and smelled very fishy but they do try to keep it clean always clearing away the seaweed, but the sunset is amazing. The food is good but very repetative we didn't like breakfast much but still had good choice we ate the omlettes which were made fresh outside with a choice of fillings and the kids loved the pancakes. Make sure when you have finished your meal before leaving your table because when you go back to it, it will be gone as they are constantly clearing up that goes for drinks as well they do an excellent job but could be annoying sometimes. The brits queded for the food but found that some of the dutch didn't and just pushed in very rude. You must go to the alacarte restaurant we went there 3 times in the 2 weeks we were there it was fantastic only cost £7 for me & my husband for a 5 course chinese try the fried Ice cream was beautiful.

The only gripe we have with the hotel is that the shop downstairs is quite expensive for a bag of doritos it was 6 lira and down town it was 1 lira. You do feel trapped at the hotel because you are not in walking distance from the town you have to catch the dolmus bus all the time or get a taxi but cheaper by dolmus. I think thats why the shop was expensive because you can't just walk to the shops, and the Ice creams at the hotel are expensive as well they are a quarter cheaper down town. The all inclusive ice cream situation isn't very good either you are only allowed ice cream between 1 and 2pm and you are only allowed one per child no adults can have one.

The photographs the hotel take are well worth having they are fantastic. The waterpark is brillant never saw our 2 older boys they made friends and spent the whole time in there and on the pool table upstairs, I must say our children absolutely loved this hotel they had plenty to occupy them. This hotel is occupied by 75% dutch and 25% english don't know why that is but felt sometimes left out especially when watching world cup game they seemed pull stops out for them but not for us.

The pools are brillant very clean we sunbathed at the flamingo pool bar one it has a jacuzzi there and swim up pool bar but the jacuzzi was only switched on 2 times in 2 weeks we were there so had to complain to the rep about this. The Rep JJ was very nice and helpful but we were told there was no market in Kusadasi but there is after asking a local down town its on a Wednesday morning for the clothing and leather goods and was very big.

The Hotel staff were very friendly all the time we were there but make sure you get drinks in before 11 as they charge after this time and don't go up just on 11 as they turn dirty with you but it is easy to forget expecially to get the kids a drink before going back to the room i went fill baby beaker up then they switched the machine off, but I'd been talking and totally forgot the time.

But apart from these minor things we thoroughly enjoyed it and would be going back again.

Fantastic hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
We have just returned from a week at the aqua fantasy and it wasn't enough! The weather was really good, about 35c with a nice breeze. The hotel was lovely, the staff are really friendly (especially Walid!) and the rooms are kept spotlessly clean. The hotel was only about half full but there were still about 600 peole staying there, but at no time did it seem that many, the site is well designed and does not feel crowded. The beach is not very nice but it gets better if you walk up the beach away from the hotel. The jetty is nice for sunbathing on in the day. The beer is good, red wine ok, white wine horrible and there are no cocktails, but spirits are quite good. Get all your drinks in before 11 because they charge a fortune after. The karaoke is good fun up the stairs from the atrium bar. The food in the restaurant is nice, but quite repetative, the a la carte restaurant is worth a go, it is very cheap about £5 for a 5 course meal and you will never be able to eat all the food! The water park is really good fun and the hotel has its own gate at the back of the park so you can go back for food etc.

If you are going to Kusadasi you must go to Ephesus, it is really interesting. We booked the trip through the first choice rep and had a brillant guide called Tiner (pronounced Tanner). Getting around on public transport is easy, you can get a dolmus (mini bus) from outside the hotel, there will be a man at the bus stop who will radio ahead to the mini bus to tell them you are getting on, they are so helpful. To get to Kusadasi and back will cost about £2.50. Take plenty of extra bags when you go on holiday as the shopping is really good. Lots of the clothes are fake designer, but quite often you would never know. Make sure you haggle as you can get things a lot cheaper.

I would definately recommend this hotel, the rooms may not be quite 5 star, but the rest of the hotel makes up for it.

Bad can go together....

from Cootje17
Terrific hotel! Rooms are great! Service at the reception is excellent but in the restaurant, young people helping out the guests, some so bad, don't understand how to be of service. When asking for a rose-wine, you can't imagine a bartender mixing red and white wine together....in front of guests....5-star.....no way! Because we don't have kids, we had dinner at the end of the course...after lots of kids were put to bed......well, dream on! Cold food, less diversity in food every night....and the ice creams were for the children....so you got to be surrogate father or mother for a minute to get ice!

The looks of hotel and gardens, pools: superb!!
Very clean!

And the best: the waterpark next to the resort made our holiday worthwhile.....but like an other tripadvisor recommended: don't go here.....especially when you have no kids!

ps
If people would critize my piece of writing with "didn't you know" or " didn't they tell you about the children....", I can tell you: those small children we met in the restaurant yelling, screaming and running (thank you parents!) they didn't go to the waterpark.....

A Great Hoilday - Recommend if you have kids

from A TripAdvisor Member
We holidayed at the Aqua Fantasy in August. We have three children, a 10 year old, and twin boys of two.

We all had a wonderful holiday, and the facilities were second to none as far as kids were concerend. Our 10 year old made friends very quickly, and we hardly saw him for the 2 weeks we were there. For the smaller ones, there was plenty to do as well, and they loved the kids slides both in the main hotel pools and in the waterpark. For us olduns, the waterpark (if it is your thing) served to ally boredom during the day for all ages, and in the evening, post dinner there were the shows which whilst obviously not professional were performed by the team with enthusiam. With the young ones in tow, we were not looking for late nights and parties, so were happy for the evenings to end at a reasonable hour.
The food was OK, not brilliant, but adequate, with breakfast very good. I have stayed in all inclusives all over the world, and the food at the Aqua was better than most and not as good as some.

Some small gripes, the beach was not very nice, and the hotel was full of Dutch people when we were there, and whilst I do not have a problem with that in itself, as I like meeting people from different places, I did find some of them rude, and oblivious to the fact that you were sometimes required to queue in the dining room and the bars. The amount of times during a two week holiday that I had to point out to people that there was a queue was ridiculous, even to the extent that on one occasion, having queued for a beer one evening, as it was poured and left on the bar, some dutch guy just walked up and attempted to take it!

But overall it was great, and even if for the kids facilities alone, we have already booked to go back next August.

great hotel

from brick-fitter
With this hotel you get what you pay for. Its really not a 5star hotel but its certainly a 3+ or 4 . Firstly the staff cannot do enough for you really friendly and helpful. especially in the atrium bar some nights they are better than the entertainment on the stage. If you go watch Hakan seser the bar captain ( hilarious) taking the micky out of anyone & everyone.
Must agree with other reviews about the food although during the first week it was great it gets tiresome in the 2nd week. The show cooking is abit of an over statement they cook doughballs for everyone every day .
As for the hotel itself although large its is spacious plenty of sunbeds to go round the family rooms are nice & comfortable never had to complain about anything.
Sorry but there is a bad side as an engilsh family there isn't enough food or enterainment for us its all biased towards the dutch. Also don't go there if you want to spend alot of time on the beach its not very nice to much seaweed with every tide.
This hotel would benefit from a free shuttle bus into Kusadasi itself because its very expensive to get there by taxi if you dont want to wait for the local bus service.
On the whole i would recommend anyone to go there always clean tidy and very very friendly loved it.

Top Local Tips for Izmir

Bodrum to Kusadasi This is 2 hours on the coach. Make sure you go before you get on the coach!!

market day dont bother shops just as cheap.

Haggling We found it better to develop a rappor with the shopkeeper, rather than go in with the heavy handed negotiating. If you're happy enough with the first price, whatever you can get will sweeten the deal, try things like "surely you can do it for ***, or "seeing as I bought all this, how about we call it ***".
