Whilst staying in Istanbul I walked into this hotel off the street one day and asked if they had internet and whether I could sit there and work. Without hesitation the gentleman at reception assured me it was no problem and that I could make myself comfortable anywhere in the lounge area. Whilst working they served me several cups of Turkish coffee and apple tea and when my laptop battery went flat, the gentleman sitting at desk nearby unplugged his printer in order to plug my laptop in. When I was fisnished several hours later, I offered to pay and they said that it was no problem and that I was welcome anytime. I will DEFINITELY stay here when back in Istanbul again! Thank you!

Modernised Ottoman house with homestyle comforts and views

We stayed at the Hotel Valide Sultan after a very disappointing experience with another hotel in Sultanahmet, who had given our room away when we arrived and turned out to be nothing like the advertised features on the web site. We explained our situation to the very courteous staff at the Valide Sultan, and for the same price were given a quiet, beautiful room on the third floor with a wonderful view and very comfortable inner sprung bed. The room was spacious, newly appointed, very clean and very user-friendly. The staff were great, and the breakfast terrace restaurant and buffet breakfast looked good.

Just stayed one night at the Hotel Valide Sultan Konagi in Istanbul after our Blue cruise - when the cab driver couldn't find the place, I started to get worried, thinking what kind of dump was this I got us into! When we arrived, we were thrilled. It is a small boutique hotel located within a very short walking distance of the Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque. A delightful staff, a rooftop terrace for dining with beautiful views of the Bosphorus and Mosque. Another short walk and you are on the tram to anywhere you want to go in either old town or the new town. I will visit you again
