Hello.

BE CAREFUL FROM THIS HOTEL.

I spent my honeymoon in LaresPark, room 117, and I found that the room windows are broken, the TV remote control is not working, the breakfast is really bad for a 4* hotel. I had to call the room service 4 times to fix the Safe Lockers.

I personally wont go to this hotel no more, and in Taksim there are several good and better 4* and 5* hotels.

Top Local Tips for Istanbul

Fish versus Kebab Though turkey is famous for the kebabs and doners, I was positvely surprised by the good quality of fish restaurants in Turkey. I had also kebabs and doners several times, and most of the times the smell of the lamb was too heavy (even in cases where the lamb meat was mixed with veal. If you go to fish restaurant you must try blue fish, which is not very expensive but delicious. Tubor is also great but more expensive. And try also some starters. What I further liked in Tuirkish restaurants are the salads, always fresh and without dressing! If you want you can have dressing but try them without. The taste of the greens and other vegetables is very rich.

Kebab versus Fish Though Istanbul (and all Turkey) is very famous for the kebabs, I found them (most of the times) quite heavy with a non pleasant smell of lamb (in Turkey kebabs are made with lamb and veal meat). HOwever I had fish a couple of times and the tast and quality surpised me positively. Try the blue fish or tuborg which are delicious and typical fishes of Bosporus.

Fine dining at Leb-i Derya Had a wonderful dinner on the terrace of the Leb-i Derya for our last night in Istanbul. The panoramic view over the Bosphorus and the roofs of Istanbul is outstanding and the food was good. Too bad the building entrance is not up to the standards, but don't be put off by it.
