Top Local Tips for Istanbul

Grand Bazaar Be prepared for the Grand Bazaar. If you do like something in there, then ask for the price & if you really want it really bargain it down to less than 50%, & pay approx 60 to 65%. Really be hard with these chaps, they take no prisoners. They will try manything to get your custom so be prepared to drive a hard bargain.

Watch your change Be wary of Taxi drivers that wait at Tourist haunts, even if they are in Yellow cabs with a meter they will still try the "oh you didn't give me a 50TL, you only gave me a 5TL trick". It didn't work and the taxi driver suddenly got very scared and drove off but always keep hold of your money till they show you the change.
