Nice but with some hickups

Most rooms in the Nena hotel are nice with thick glass (you won't wake up from the morning singing of the Islam). However, some rooms (especially when you ask for a double bed) have only one window and it looks out to a wall right in front of it, which makes the room rather dark and unattractive. We therefore asked for another room.
Also, the service is nice, but a little bit expensive when they offer service to the airport. You might just as well get a cab.
Overall, the Nena hotel was a good place to stay, but a bit overpriced compared to the other hotels we stayed in in Istanbul.

I can only recomment this hotel to everyone...

I have the hotel as really cosy and nice place in memory. The staff was very friendly and willing to help, the atmosphere was relaxed and the hotel itself located in the best spot of Istanbul. The roof restaurant is just amazing, the view is like on all the postcards, a view that you normall cant see, and the panorama is just HUGE. You're so quickly in the centre of the old town.
Generally i can really only recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a personal, home-like atmosphere of a small hotel in the heart of Istanbul.

A decent little hotel, clean with helpful staff, in an excellent location within walking distance of most of Istanbul's main attractions - Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Topkapi, the Grand Bazaar. There are also quite a few reasonable restaurants in the immediate area.

We came from Canada directly to Istanbul. After long hours of flying we did need a break. The Nena Hotel Istanbul was waiting for us at the a?rport with a big sign and a friendly smile. As we reached the hotel we were met by the friendly receptionstaff (Mr. Kahraman) and his colleagues who made us feel as if we were at the comfort of our home. We were accompanied to our air-condit?oned room. The breakfast restaurant overlooks the Sultan Ahmet and Aya Sofiya magnificent buildings and part of the sea. It is a breathtak?ng v?ew. The food was good and the hotel staff shows all the possible generousity and hospital?ty you may hope for away from home. We plan to come back again and again. We do thank Mr. Tarik Salgham and all h?s staff.

We did stay in Hotel Nena Istanbul for 6 nights and it was really wonderfull accommodation.Specially view from the terrace where we had breakfast is perfect also the rooms have enough space to stay for families.We were staying there with 3 rooms and everybody has satisfacted.
Thanks to the staff for wonderfull holiday.We definetly recommend this hotel families,singles, couples...

Nice location

I stayed three nights in July . The hotel is generally above average hotel. The rooms are clean but small. Breakfast is tasteful . No Fitness center or swimming pool. The main good thing about this hotel is its location & staff. And the main problem with this hotel is its size , very tiny and in fact when you talk to your roommate , be careful because the other rooms will hear your talk. So I really do not recommend it for families because some other guests will be not so happy to hear the children talking or playing

Our very first visit to Istanbul cannot be any better and Nena Hotel is very much part of this wonderful trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful, one even walk us to a nice restaurant round the corner. Perfect location to stay - most attractions of the Old City are within walking distance from here.

? look across from my breakfast of fruit and yoghurt, across the Bosphorus to Asian ?stanbul, while the Blue Mosque and San Sofia stand sentinel; the view from the roof-top terrace is breathtaking.

Hotel Nena is a friendly and unasumming joint, which tries its best to accomodate even the most difficult requests. ?t is slightly too large to be cons?dered quaint but has a homeliness and an ease that relaxes the weary traveller from the day's adventures in this beautiful city. ?t is clean and well maintained: a respite from the dusty heat of outside. Our stay here was pleasant and the approachable staff are the ones that make this hotel memorable.

We had a great time in Hotel Nena this August. The rooms are clean and the location ?s fantastic within walking distance of all the sights in SULTANAHMET. The breakfast every morning (included in the hotel rate ) is more than ample and provides a good start to your sightseeing day. The view of the Blue mosque and St Soph?a and the Bosphorus is wonderful from the terrace where breakfast is. We had taken a side trip ( 2 days) to Ephesus and the hotel took care of all our transfers and luggage storage wonderfully. I highly recommend this hotel for everyone who wants to have a value for money stay in Istanbul.All hotel staff are very helpfull and provide great service...

The best place to stay in Istanbul

It was only by chance that we discovered th?s Hotel while look?ng for a place where I can stay w?th my family in Istanbul in the morning of 17 July 2005. I found it a perfect choice in terms of its perfect location, hospitality, service and cleaniness. I and my family found it so good that when we planed five nights out of Istanbul on 21st July we selected to come back to same Hotel Nena. We even extended our stay in Turkey for two more days i.e, up to 30th July because of our wonderful experince at th?s nice Hotel. We perfectly enjoyed our stay and shall recommend to our friends and others to stay at Hote Nena when ever they plan to visit Istanbul.

I myself is a Banker and my wife a Doctor working in Pakistan will certainly advise our friends to visit Istanbul to enjoy the Hospitality of Nena Hotel and to have real value of their money and to enjoy their Holidays.

Top Local Tips for Istanbul

Getting to centre from Sabiha Gurkcan Airport the quickest and reasonably priced way to get to central IST from SAW is to get a taxi outside the airport to Harem or Kadikoy Ferry Boat station (50 lire) then the boat across the Bosphorous to either Eminonu or Karakoy (every 20 mins, 1lire 30), then the tram to Sultanahmet or whichever tram station is near your hotel. Even if its your first time in Turkey, this is quite easy, and its a great way to arrive. Much better than an expensive taxi all the way, and better than waiting for a bus!

The tour to Ephesus, Aphrodisias and Pamukkale was excellent, we did everything in time and we got to know these places very well. The tour Guide you chose for us was very good also, including the Driver and the Van. We finished that day at 6:30 pm. We were happy also with the tour in Cappadoccia.
