Top Local Tips for Istanbul

Taxis are cheap Taxis are fairly cheap, dont waste your time trying to figure out the bus/metro system.

Beware Turkish Taxi Drivers When leaving your hotel ALWAYS get the to get your taxi for you, they wont rip you off. However when you get a taxi on the street beware, Turk taxi drivers have a well know reputation for ripping off tourists, i.e. taking you on the "long" route claiming roads are closed or there is a football game or something, there are daytime and nightime fees, nightime is higher, be sure in the daytime they set the meter on daytime rate, they will always try to short change you, acting stupid like they cant count. Dont let them confuse you by asking for different demoinations of currency. Check the meter when you get in the cab to be sure they reset it. BEST ADVICE, travel with a Turkish speaking person in taxis if you have one, otherwise just expect to get ripped off, just the way it is there.

So many things to do Must get Breakfast included,their breakfast menu is incredible. The hotel is very close to Dolmabahce Palace, takes 5 minutes by taxi. Go to Blue Mosque and Ayasofia .... there are million things to do in Istanbul
