Was robbed and admitted to hospital in Istanbul and the hostel owner, Tugrul, came and visited me every day. Let me call my parent in Australia on his mobile phone and was so helpful and comforting. When I got out of hospital he put me in a private room (I had been in a dorm) and gave me free accommodation and food each day until I could get a new passport and credit card. When I did get my new credit card he would not accept payment for the nights I had been there. This was such a wonderful gesture, it really helped me to get over the robbery (which was by another tourist id like to point out, the Turks are lovely) and I will never forget his generosity and genuine concern for my safety. I can not recommend highly enough. If you want to stay with someone who will treat you like family, stay here.

In November of 2005 three of us were travelling from Edmonton Alberta Canada, We were stuck at the airport with a problem paying for our Visas; all ATMs were down or not working. Cordial house was there to pick us up and helped us solve the problem. We are forever grateful for the help and consideration and great timing. The best place to stay for access to almost every site to see. Rooms were great for the tired travellers. Bathrooms were clean and in nice condition. Restaurant almost next door, theatre across the street and the best shopping just steps away, why stay anywhere else for such an inexpensive and hospitable hostel. And yes the dog was a real charmer. I highly recommend Cordial house to any of those on a budget, great price for a warm and friendly hostel.

make a list of things to buy if you are istanbul, be sure to visit the grand bazar and the spice market. you get wonderful stuff, and be sure that you walk the distances so that you can see everything. and be sure that you bargain a lot. prices are high from 200 percent to 50 percent

Don't Get Tax?s Use the publ?c transport and don't see the C?ty from a tax?. The Metro and tram were both very clean and safe. Also ?t ?s a lovely C?ty to walk ?n....make your tr?p less expens?ve!

May: the best time to travel In late May, Istanbul has great weather but relatively few tourists. Perfect.
