The Hotel service was good but some staff is very unhelpful, need to smile more. Overall trip was very good, especially the boat ride.

My wife and I recently returned from a stay at the Best Western Antea Palace. The hotel is situated about 5 mins from the Sultanahmet Square. The rooms were spotless and a good size.Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I think it was the staff that really set the tone for our first trip to ISTANBUL. They made us feel very comfortable and relaxed about finding our way around the city. I really hope we can return to Ýstanbul soon - I will definitely stay at the Antea Palace again, next time we'll bring our kids!

Top Local Tips for Istanbul

Attaturk to Sultanahmet Three one way trips, one at 11:00 p.m., were all 25 - 28 YTL each.

Turkish Music If you want to listen to fantastic Turkish music take a trip up to some of the side streets off Istiklial Caddesi at the weekend and enjoy live bands and dancing in a friendly atmosphere till the wee small hours.

Boat trips Instead of going on expensive boat trips through a travel agent, why not use the local ferries? We travelled all the way up the Golden Horn and back by ferry boat for £1.00 each. We also did a circular trip of the Bosphorous for £2.00 each. The ferries are clean and comfortable and refreshments are available in the lounge on the first level. Upstairs is the deck seating, under a canopy to keep off the sun and waiters come around all the time, selling soft drinks and snacks at a very reasonable price.
