Top Local Tips for Cappadocia

Sofra Restaurant is very good! If you are visiting the Urgup area in Cappadocia, I highly recommend the Sofra Restaurant. It's just off the enter of town. I ordered the chicken kebabs and they came with salad, rice, and wonderful home made bread. Tried the house red wine and it was excellent. Best of all was the owner, who is a kind, friendly and soft spoken man who cares very much about the quality of food and service. We talked quite a while and when I mentioned Tripadvisor, he took a sign out of his front window that had a positive review from a Tripadvisor member. He was very proud of that review and he earned it - the food was great and so was the price! He is also thoughtful about feeding scraps to the ugly, one-eyed orange cat that hangs around in front of the door. Now that's a nice guy!
