our first impressions were ok. the hotel was at least clean and looks fancy from the outside. there were two very rude female receptionist's that did not speak good english at all, tryin to talk to them was awful. if there was a problem they would shrug there shoulders and ignore you, i named them dumb and dumber. there was a small pool and the space availble for sunbeds was absolutely dredful. they squoze 100s of sunbeds into such a small space to accomodate for the amount of people that were staying in this small hotel... sunbeds were in rows with no gaps between other sunbeds so having to sunbathe next a stranger was very uncomfortable and whats worse is that you couldn't lye the bed down fully because if u put the back of the bed down you would end up on top of someone elses feet! getting to your sunbed was a maze and having to climb over others was unpleasant. our room ended up being right at the bottom of the 10 flights of stairs and no lifts were availble, you defonitely worked up a sweat climbing the stairs to say the least. what was worse is that we paid all inclusive and what a big mistake... we had to eat out for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day because the food was that bad. lets just say it tasted like dog food, it was grub and rice for every meal which was all re-heated. there was two meal options for meat-eaters and one choice for a vegetarian and rice, rice and more rice. both myself and my partner are not fussy eaters but we struggled to eat the food which ruined our holiday the most. the rooms are very basic with no balcony with only a window. and if you want a good nights sleep you will struggle to get this because it isnt far from the city center where there are many clubs and the music is very loud and doesnt stop untl around 4-5am. the only upside is the views that is why i gave them a 1. but please if u want a decent holiday please do not stay here!
Don't even go there

This review is just a warning to anyone thinking of going here. Let me save you money and valuable family time, go elsewhere. The food is almost the same thing every time. The warm things varied from time to time, saying warm, I mean luke warm. The maid stole from our room and on reporting this to the reception some things were returned, but not all. The entertainment was dire, my children had no one to play with for the entire holiday ,(2 weeks)as we were in the minority. The showers were cold, no hot water after 6 pm. You are made to feel that because they already have your money that you are not important, very badly managed and maintained hotel.(waiting on staff and bar staff are great and the views are breath taking)

Hotel was good overall except for the fifty steps we had to go up to get from our room to hotel entrance!!! torture. Ever go and end up at the bottom managers happy enough to swap your room if you ask.
Food wasn't great unless you like to live off rice and salad - we all lost weight when we came home :o) is that right???
Entertainment guy extremely annoying only looking after certain female guests - not bothering with other people. Obsessed with playing polo whilst everyones having a relaxin swim!
Met some great people there, Mary &Roy, Claire, Benny and Abby - great to meet you guys. Thanks for showing us round etc. Friendly place overall- meet lovely bunch of people. Good atmosphere.
Gumbet and Bodrum are lovely! Food is good and loads of bars to choose from. The shopping is great for all you ladies out there- we came back with many deals- dont forget to barter though!
Hotel good for a week away but no longer!

Just got back from grand newport so i can tell you all how it is. For what we paid for 1wk, I can say with out a doubt, the best value for money ever. The staff are great, the views to die for. If the food is not what you expect, ie Turkish, ask the head waiter and he will sort it for you. If that fails, go to the queen apartments top of the hill going down to bitez ask for ann and say malcolm and sharon sent you(have the sunday roast)or any other meal great food.
Best hotel I have stayed in.

I stayed in the Gran Newport hotel for two weeks in July/August and had a great time. The first thing you notice is the beautiful view looking onto the sea and Gumbet bay. The hotel is kept extremely clean at all times with the rooms being cleaned every day. The staff are very helpful and friendly and will do anything to help. The location is perfect with just a short bus journey into Gumbet (buses stop outside hotel). It is also two minutes from Betez where there are many lovely places to eat. The food in the hotel is nice however can be a little repetitive. The only minor issue for some people may be the stairs( we were 127 steps from room to reception). Can't stress how lovely and hard working the staff are. I would definately recommend this hotel to everyone.
Great service

hoilday It was such a great hoilday there was nothink we did not like.
Avoid taxis Take the dolmus/bus. The taxis are a rip off and always take a tip which is cheeky. The dolmus run very regularly and are great
