Don't even go there
This review is just a warning to anyone thinking of going here. Let me save you money and valuable family time, go elsewhere. The food is almost the same thing every time. The warm things varied from time to time, saying warm, I mean luke warm. The maid stole from our room and on reporting this to the reception some things were returned, but not all. The entertainment was dire, my children had no one to play with for the entire holiday ,(2 weeks)as we were in the minority. The showers were cold, no hot water after 6 pm. You are made to feel that because they already have your money that you are not important, very badly managed and maintained hotel.(waiting on staff and bar staff are great and the views are breath taking)

Varied views
Hotel was good overall except for the fifty steps we had to go up to get from our room to hotel entrance!!! torture. Ever go and end up at the bottom managers happy enough to swap your room if you ask.
Food wasn't great unless you like to live off rice and salad - we all lost weight when we came home :o) is that right???
Entertainment guy extremely annoying only looking after certain female guests - not bothering with other people. Obsessed with playing polo whilst everyones having a relaxin swim!
Met some great people there, Mary &Roy, Claire, Benny and Abby - great to meet you guys. Thanks for showing us round etc. Friendly place overall- meet lovely bunch of people. Good atmosphere.
Gumbet and Bodrum are lovely! Food is good and loads of bars to choose from. The shopping is great for all you ladies out there- we came back with many deals- dont forget to barter though!
Hotel good for a week away but no longer!

Great staff - teo the barman is astar
Just got back from grand newport so i can tell you all how it is. For what we paid for 1wk, I can say with out a doubt, the best value for money ever. The staff are great, the views to die for. If the food is not what you expect, ie Turkish, ask the head waiter and he will sort it for you. If that fails, go to the queen apartments top of the hill going down to bitez ask for ann and say malcolm and sharon sent you(have the sunday roast)or any other meal great food.

Best hotel I have stayed in.
I stayed in the Gran Newport hotel for two weeks in July/August and had a great time. The first thing you notice is the beautiful view looking onto the sea and Gumbet bay. The hotel is kept extremely clean at all times with the rooms being cleaned every day. The staff are very helpful and friendly and will do anything to help. The location is perfect with just a short bus journey into Gumbet (buses stop outside hotel). It is also two minutes from Betez where there are many lovely places to eat. The food in the hotel is nice however can be a little repetitive. The only minor issue for some people may be the stairs( we were 127 steps from room to reception). Can't stress how lovely and hard working the staff are. I would definately recommend this hotel to everyone.
