have just come back from turkey and have never been more excited to land at manchester airport. if you ever go to etap altinel refuse point blank to stay in the annex part of the hotel its away from the main hotel ( we're sure it was were the staff stayed) the rooms were blow average not what we expected or paid for. we tryed movin bt got us 2 doors up from the first room. sockets wer unsafe and fridge didnt work. staff wer arrgoant and in your face. food was repetitive lived off rice nd pasta for a week. the only thing that looked like the picture in the brochure was the pool. it has completely put me off turkey for good.

Ok the the rooms that we stayed in werte a bit dated but clean,towels got changed every day and beds got done.WE had a fantastic time food was turkish which was great free drinks all day the sea and the views were dreamy espcialy the sunset every evening, and the staff & waiters could worked so hard to please every one. If you are going with two teenage children there is a good disco/ club night every night from 11.00 -0200 , my kids loved it and so did we hats off to all the animation team at the resort they all did a good job to keep every amused, cant wait to go back.

Gosh where could i start.. i am in no way exagerating ...when u first enter the Hotel you could smell sewege ... gosh i will never forget this smell... the Lobby looked pittiful the staff had no idea what they were doing, the reception staff had hard problem understanding and communicating in english. while we were in the lobby awaiting for our rooms we were covering our faces with our shirts (due to the stincky smell).
we had to change our rooms twice due to the bad smell in and around the room (open sewege). after threatening them for calling the health department (something that i had to come up with to get more attention and better treatment) they ended up moving us to rooms on the pool. the rooms were below standard they ARE IN NO MEANS A 5 STAR HOTEL ROOMS. THEY WOULD PROBABLY FIT A 2 OR 3 STAR MAX. THE FOOD WAS SO REPETETIVE AND BELOW AVERAGE ..... IN SUMMARY AND TO BE HONEST WITH YOU I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANNYONE PLEASE TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THE ONLY BERAUTIFUL THING ABOUT IT WAS THE BEACH AREA ..... DON'T WAIST UR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL OR U WILL REGRET IT ....

I found it clean, most of the staff were polite and friendly. The food was ok, and the bar stock was as previously reported running out of stock, which I found surprising as it was not that busy.

Be careful of sob stories form the staff, asking for money for operations for their parents or sister. Its a common way of scamming money from holiday makers. and also be sure not to allow the staff into your rooms as things could go missing.
Also make sure you get a written quote for services in the turkish baths as they tried to rip us off for loads of money with a bill at the end of the holiday, which we had no idea we had raised. We paid cash at the beginning for a course of treatments , but were told at the end of the hioliday that we oves over 100 pounds for treatments etc, we wthought we had already paid for.

Just read reviews nothing changes filthy rooms ants in bedrooms bad food ignorant staff. Same food every day, thats if it didnt run out half way through meal. Never ate as much salad and cheese. Was glad when week was over.Never again

My husband and I stayed here for a week we thoroghly enjoyed it the staff were helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble.
A beautiful location right on the sea.

How about No Star Hotel

Hotel Review:
"1. Rooms not cleaned for our entire stay. 2. Booming music from 10 in the morning until midnight everyday. 3. Vodka run out on day 2. 4. No white wine. 5. I have tasted anti-freeze that was better than their red wine - awful. 6. Underage drinking by youths clearly not old enough. 7. 8 year old boys serving alcohol at the beach bar whilst the waiter chats up young girls. 8. Tea bags run out day 4. 9. Orange juice run out day 4. 10. Boiled chicken, fish, ground meat and salad are you choices along with soup - all either cold or warm. 11. Breakfast boiled eggs, toast (if you can be bothered to put the bread through the toaster 3 times!) Fried eggs/ Pancakes on alternate days (your only hot food). 12. Hotel and surrounds clearly in need of some tender loving care. 13. No bath plug. 14. No hot water in the mornings. 15. Broken sun beds. Most of the above points were put to the management by letter but no reply was forthcoming! "

"If you do not have enough money to eat and drink else where do not come to this hotel. Poncho's Steak House in town - Superb."

End of season and you could tell

On arrival at the hotel, we were allocated our room. When we saw it, there was plaster falling off the ceiling, mold in the corner, air con was hanging off the wall, live wires in the bathroom. However the view from our room was lovely. It looked right onto the beach and the pool, however this was later going to be a negative point. we got into our room at about4.30am and decided to go back to sleep. At 5.30am, we were fast asleep and there was banging at the door. I thought the worst, but as we opened the door there was a porter with another couple trying to put them in our room. They said we were in the wrong room and wanted us to move at 5.30am. As we got back to sleep it got to 9.30am (if I had not been traveling and had such little sleep I would of been up an about, but we were exhausted). So enjoying some sleep and the next thing u could hear really loud dance music from the pool. It was so loud - our room was banging. So no more sleep for us, we got up went for breakfast and the chef had walked out so I don't even need to say how awful the standard of food was. Went to sit by the pool, hardly any sun beds left because they were clearing up for end of season. went onto the beach no sun beds at all, cleared everything away. We went to have a drink, ran out of all inclusive drinks apart from reiki,gin or diet coke that was it and I payed over £400 each to have that as my options. People were going out and buying there own bottles of wine and food. The worst thing about the hotel had to be the music and the dj, he was soooo rude, he only played what he wanted and it was so loud u could not even have a conversation. People requested for him to turn it down, but he just turned it up louder and if u were a woman he would not even answer u. I thought this was a nice family and quiet resort but this was a joke. You could not even relax by the pool, music was from 09.30 to 01.00.

Best end of season holiday for a while

I have fully enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I have only one complaint and that's the DJ turned the music up in the bar area at 10.30pm so the whole complex could hear it this went on for around an hour. To say the hotel was closing down soon for the winter break they still gave 100% and we will be back.

The main hotel we thought was lovely and the staff were as well, but we weren't in the main hotel. We were in the staff quarters with a lovely view of a tiny shed. We never saw the cleaner, we were pinching towels and toilet rolls off her trolley and had the same bedding on for a week. The rep for gold trail didn't travel so nobody saw her. If you get offered room numbers 501 to 534 refuse them because it is in the staff quarters.

Top Local Tips for Bodrum

getting the bus to Bodrum Make sure you don't waste money on taxi's. The buses go and come back from Bodrum every 10 minutes. Walk out to the road and wait next to the road the buses will stop and pick you up no worries.

Barber If your a man i recommend going for a proper shave, its quite an experience!!!!

Hong Kong Restaurant, Bodrum The Hong Kong restaurant offers a free shuttle transfere to their restaurant on request (a man will hand leaflets out around the pool - speaks excellent English). Just tell him the time you want to be colllect from lobbey and he will be there in an top class air conditioned mini bus. Food is great (they even pick you up for a Full English Breakfast (and believe it, you will need a few nights eating away from the hotel- read above).
