In the middle of no-where so hire a car, dont worry about other drivers and roads driving in london is far worse. The hotel is good enough to sleep and shower at,with the car you see much more of bodrum.Go to bitez it has the cleanest and quietest beach, watch the charge for swimming with dolphins £45 for 5 minute swim.back to the hotel,it is crap but wot do you want for the £300 A/I,the staff are friendly and give the cleaners a packet of fags or adrink and they will make your bed up with lovely shapes and flowers.so take my advice get a car and make the most of bodrum.

We had a fantastic time at the Crystal. The views were gorgeous, the hotel was nice and the staff were excellent!!! Would recommend this holiday to anyone who is up for a laugh and doesn't think their entire holiday has been ruined because the beach wasn't sandy enough!!

were do i begin been abroad all over, and never stayed anywhere as bad as this.i took two children 9 and 3 and there was nothing for them . the food was discusting unless you eat calf tougne soup or albanian brain ,and wat was edible gave me food poisoning.the saftey for the children was zilche sheer drops so dangerous for a 3 year old and the taxi from the airport nearly crashed on the way to the hotel .they drive like maniacs. so after that we didnt dare do any trips. the hotel was filfy and the beach was none exsistent.I read some reviews before we went and still went with an open mind big mistake never to be repeated again .

I thought this hoilday would be better. It was my 3rd holiday abroad and the worst. I Would never go back to this hotel as the food was not up to the standards that we payed for. The food was left uncoverd!! A couple of girls got food poisoning and was rushed to the hospitial! The beach near the place was awful. There was no sand at all. The only good besch was about 40 mins away! I was with my family and all of us felt the same way!! I wouldn't come back to Crystal Hotel.

Good, bad and ugly

Firstly, the hotel is most definitely NOT a 5 star, or anywhere near it! In the UK this would struggle to reach a 3 star. The facilities are there, but generally very tired and in desperate need of a complete revamp. For example, the Turkish bath and sauna (which we took the 2 hour treatment at £25 each) was fine but the sauna section just looked like it needed a good clean up and refurb. The turkish bath, massage and facial were excellent and left us feeling really refreshed. The massage table were in a kind of cabanna on one of the several balconies and had people wandering past which didn't exactly help the pampering experience. The hotel is built on the side of a steep hill and, although there is a lift, it really isn't suitable for anyone elderly, infirm or needing to bump prams or biggies up and down. The food was generally good. The variety was helped by an extensive salad bar, which offered a really good choice. The 'main' section usually had meat in a sauce of some kind, or chips and and veggie option. Every other evening there was an outdoor grill which offered different things on different nights such as grilled fish or steak etc. The drinks selection was fine and gave a good choice of soft or alcoholic drinks. I've read reviews saying there was a fly problem there, we didn't really experience that too much but there were a lot of wasps, although they were usually more interested in the sugar bowl! Breakfast was not the best meal of the day as there was no fresh orange juice, the milk for the cereal (which offered most cereals to be fair) was warm and there was no toast to be had! The rooms were very jaded and the bathrooms were, frankly, in need of a damn good clean!! there was mould in the shower, behind the sink, by the toilet, in the grout and so on..! It was quite disgusting. The rooms were not very big and the beds only seemed to have a bottom sheet on but no top one so you were left with a scratchy blanket on top!!! The hotel has 2 pools, one is at the upper level and has a small terrace next to it. it gives a lovely view over the bay with the island and seems to be a constant photo opportunity too! The pool gives a nice an d quiet place to relax and soak up the rays with the option of a nice dip to cool off in between. This leads on to the negative part of this review... The lower pool is larger and next to the stage and dance area (open area) where the 'animation' team play their trade. Unfortunately, this team was made up of about 5 17 year olds who didn't have the slightest clue how to entertain or provide any form of decent enjoyment for the vast majority of the guest and their families. We made the mistake of going to the lower pool on the first day and were rewarded with an afternoon of blasting 'Gangsta' Rap which was so loud that I had to shout to my partner who was lying next to me on the loungers. There were several families around and the constant noise was hardly family entertainment. Bad enough in the day but the music was so loud in our room that we couldn't sleep and went on until midnight (a big problem if you've got little ones) in fact the music was so loud that the only way to describe it is to imagine you are in a room with the TV on loud and try to sleep! In fairness, we complained the next morning and we were moved without problem to another room on th eother side of the hotel (the mould in the bathroom obviously came free as a feature of the rooms!). The entertainment itself was....hilarious! The animation 'team' just didn't have a clue! They attempted to stage a fire eating night and ended up setting fire to each other all evening...priceless. Their idea of entertainment was to walk up and down the stage and fiddle with the speakers on the stage...then turn them up as loud as they could and look like a bunch of kids trying to act like adults. Considering the hotel is completely away from any other hotels and in a residential area there is very little to choose from. If you go into Yaklivak (the nearest town) the bus service stops running back to the hotel at 7pm and the taxi will cost you £10 to get back. In conclusion, the hotel is adequate if you want somewhere to fly and flop with limited entertainment and reasonable food and drink. But it isn't cheap and the area will cost about the same to eat and drink in as the UK so dont expect a super cheap holiday here. One final word of advice, refreshments at the airport on your return flight are absolutely extortionate! A can of coke will cost you £5! And to have a packet of crisps, a can of drink and a snickers bar will cost you £11. So for goodness sake buy your provisions before you get there.

I thought this holiday was amazing. The food wasnt all that great, but they did serve english food. The staff were friendly and most of them spoke very good english. The entertainment was very good and while I was there, they did a comedy sketch which had me in stitches! In the evenings, the disco was great and they did activities during the day including water polo and darts. The layout of the hotel was very nice, but with very steep steps, but that was resolved by a clean lift. The rooms were nice and they were cleaned everyday with clean towels and bedding. The pools were reasonably big and a point was they were actually clean,(compared to the last holiday I went on abroad). Well, overall I loved this holiday and have actually booked it again the day I came home I thought it was that good. See you very soon!

It's been nearly a month since I returned from my holiday at the Club Crytsal Hotel and I absolutelty miss it. The staff were very friendly and the location was beautiful overlooking clear blue sea. However its not ideal for the elderly as its located on a hill, including lots of steps. The one major problem was the food, flies everywhere and sausage was served with nearly every meal. But apart from that it had some really positive aspects about it such as the excursions. Overall it was a good holiday, with a few downfalls I wouldn't say its a 5 star holiday, more like a 3. But i still enjoyed it. Be aware though i would not recomment a turkish bath, the bath was filthy and the manager of the Hamim is a pervert. But yea a great holiday lol.

Never Again!

This is quite possibly the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at and in no way whatsoever does it deserve its' 5* rating more like a 2*. The rooms were basic to say the least, the pool looked great till all the kids got ear infections from it, the food was quite poor with the hot and cold food all being the same temperature...lukewarm and covered in flies. The entertainment was diabolical and at times not existent and the airconditioning left us with chest infections with some of our friends needing antibiotics. Some of the staff were quite helpful however this was the exception rather than the rule. The majority of the staff are men and to say the least they were rude and in some instances were even agressive towards my 13 year old daughter, who they thought it was appropriate to grab when it suited them. The management do not care about the problems, all they care about is the money. I will never stay at this hotel again.
