Not as advertised

Advertised as a five star. Not remotely like any five star hotel I've stayed in (and I've stayed in lots). To be fair this is not the hotel's or staff's fault - you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. However, I work hard and am not prepared to "make do" on my annual holiday to keep the peace, like some people were prepared to do.

Don't mind eating with other people but not flies

We arrived at 6am and were moved to another hotel by 11pm. along with 2 coach loads! Food covered in flies as doors open and no air conditioning. Dead insects in pool looked as if it had not been cleaned for some time. Mould really awful in our tiny residence. Two small windows and 30 cm wide wardrobe. It was advertised 5* is actually a 4*worthy of only 2* if lucky. They charged people £130 to move to better rooms. We were also asked to pay for our eventual transfer, which we reduced by £315each!!. It does have its own beach, but you have to get a bus to it. Not a place for children and older people as very steep steps everywhere. No where near for a stroll around shops or for restaurants. If you don't mind dirt, steps, flies on food, stomach bugs and poor entertainment then you're in with a chance!

Expecting my holiday to be as advertised was at best a joke. On arrival we found our room ceiling leaking, was transferred into a dungeon of a room, and after complaints from my husband ended up in a third room that was nice but had loads of steps so once you were out for the day you didn't go back. Nearly every day they ran out of pop or beer or water or vodka (they only served vodka lager brandy Rahki) so not much choice anyway. Food same old same old no choice. Entertainment was the worse I have seen in 30 years of going abroad. DONT DRINK THE WATER. Spring water it's a joke look at the storage tanks on the beach. Holiday from hell here you come.

After finding a great family holiday deal we booked here for 2 adults and 2 children as we were told it was 5 stars, very family friendly and had lots to do. We ended up in a room with 2 beds for 4 of us. We asked more than once for another bed, none arrived. We went for food to find it was all cold after being put out 15 - 20mins before eating time, and was covered in black flies. 4 people known had food poisoning. Many more had the runs. The air conditioning system was leaking around the hotel. The entertainment was pornographic as they are used to catering for 18, 30s. Some rooms flooded, ours included. The pools are extremely unsafe - a lot of people slipped over, my children included. There are no water sports as advertised, no zoo, no mini golf, and the beach is full of large sharp rocks. They ran out of drink every day and only served vodka, brandy or beer. 40 people walked out the hotel while we were there. There were riots in May we were told and the hotel itself is no good for small children or prams. 5 star? 4 star? No way. I'd rate this hotel as 2 star and never visit there again.

Nice place shame about the food

Great staff, very friendly, couple of minor gripes about the bar opening hours. The hotel is set on a steep hill & would not be suitable for those that cannot walk well, the major problem with the hotel is the food, the self service buffet is put out 15-20 mins before the restaurant opens & is cold by the time it opens. Most of the UK clients ended up with the runs. The hotel is advertised as 4*, it could be if the food was sorted out otherwise 2*
