The runs: run down, don't run by pool, run quick to loo

Just got back from hotel "open sewer" or crystal with an "ish". My 4 yr old girl needed stitches in her eyelid after slipping by the death-trap pool and if you need medical treatment, they have an arrangement with a local costly private centre. Was ill with vomiting the entire 2 weeks also severe stomach pains and the "runs". My wife is Turkish and complained bitterly to the management about the stench which was nauseating and the fact that this was basically 2/3 star apartments who expressed surprise at our complaint saying no-one else had mentioned it! They offered 1 alternative hotel if we paid £515 more. So it was pegs on noses and head down toilets for the duration in-between competing with evry1 else at 8.00 am for the few sunbeds. If you want to lose weight, money & yr sense of smell then be their guest. Oh, and my dog eats better I suspect a chef with a grudge against holidaymakers.

We booked this as a 5 star then it lost a star. Should be a 2*. There are no water sports, not even a rubber ring. The beach is dirty and the only way into the sea is jumping off the jetty. Hotel and grounds always smell of sewage. Entertainment is awful. Mini disco has the same songs every night and the speaker broke down. Consequently it was turned up at full volume so we could fully appreciate the distorted noise, not been mended when we left. Alot of people got upset stomachs including us. Rude man behind reception, not in the least helpful. If you have young children or are elderly DON'T GO!! The only way to survive this experience is to get local buses away from the hotel. If booked with On the Beach, don't ring them with any problems they are rude and ignorant, contact the parent company, On the Piste. Medium sized swimming pool with far too few sun beds for the number of guests. Don't expect to get a lounger. No drinks in the fridge in the room and the hotel shop was way over priced.

After We Had Booked The Holiday We Saw All The Bad Reviews And Thought We Would Regret It! But We Sed If It Was Bad We Would Move TO Club Blue Dreams. But There Was A Lot Of Fussy People About The Food. It Wasn't The Best Food I Had But Turkey Isn't Known For Good Food. The Only Bad Thing I Have To Say Is The Lifts! In This Hotel The Lifts Break Down 24/7 You Go Down Then The Doors Stay Closed And The Light In The Lift Turn Of! Even When You Press The Help Button Nothing Happens, You Have To Go Back To The Floor You Were On And Use The Stairs! But The Lift By The Pool Was Worse! It Just Drops! I Do Recommend This Hotel Because The Kids Have A Blast In The Pool And The Entertainment is Great And At Midnight There Is A Night Club For Over 13's Which Is Brilliant! The Bus Trips Are Annoying But Worth Your While Turgetreiis Is Better Than Bodrum By Far! Go On The Boat Trips There Brilliant! I Recommend This Hotel Completely Just Don't Use The Lifts! x

felt ripped of (NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL)

We booked this holiday from a company called YOURHOLIDAYS.COM which was advertised on teletext t.v. Advertising this FIVE STAR ALLINCLUSIVE hotel and a special price, but because we come from Northern Ireland we had to pay more that the average guest. On arrival at this hotel, we found that in fact it was a four star, and when we got to our room, there was no balcony or terrace, just a small pokey room that had a window in the middle of the wall looking down at the edge of a cliff, we asked if we could be moved to another room and was told that we would have to pay another seventy-five pounds to get a different room. We declined and went to have our breakfast which was (sausages, eggs pancakes and bread) that was all that was on offer. My husband is diabetic and which the hotel lacking in food, we had to pay to be moved to another hotel almost one hour's drive by private taxi at the cost of (115 pounds). When we returned home I complained to the holiday company involved and they reimbursed our (115 pounds) and give us some compensation also as due to the fact that I read out our rights as travelers and that we were prepared to take them to court. This was our first time in Turkey, and thanks to the trauma and rudeness of staff at the crystal hotel, we will NEVER be back in turkey again, so if you are thinking about going to this hotel, think again as unless you are prepared to stay in it, it will cost you dear to be moved if you are lucky, as it was through my persistence and shouting in front of other guests that made the management wake up and smell the coffee (so to speak) as they at first did not want to help us to get moved

Before we went on holiday we were put off going to the crystal hotel, as we read all the bad reveiws on this site!! We were plesantly suprised when we got there and really enjoyed our holiday! The food was really nice (clean with no flies!) although there wasnt much english food, but who goes on holiday abroad to eat english food!? the room was nice, a little small, and could have been a bit cleaner, but who stays in their room on holiday!? the hotel is a bit far out from places like Bodrum, however the bus services were very reliable and cheap, so we were able to visit all the local towns. the hotels services were also very good, the turkish bath is well worth a visit, and value for money. the beach is a 5 minute shuttle bus from the hotel, although its within walking distance. the beach isnt your typical sandy beach, but there are plenty of sunbeds, clear, clean water, a nice bar, and you can dive off the pier. we would definitly recomend this hotel and think people are just winding each other up!

Crystal Clearly Not A 5* Hotel!

Our holiday was eagerly anticipated, and on the whole, was extremely enjoyable. Room was basic and old-fashioned but clean and was extremely well-maintained throughout our stay. Staff were generally polite, but not desperately helpful. The food was the main let down of our stay; it was fairly basic, and a number of people complained of food-poisoning, we steered clear of anything that looked suspicious and managed to emerge from the holiday relatively unharmed. The pool area was large and there were plenty of sunbeds, however the surrounding area was extremely slippy and definitely not ideal for children. Set on the side of a cliff, the hotel had numerous flights of steps, fine for a young couple like us, but for children and the elderly i can appreciate this could be an issue! As a young couple we didn't make much use of the "entertainment" that was on offer for families, however, what we saw was dire! An on-site "nightclub" was on offer to adults, but don't expect the night of your lives as the out dated music, dodgy barmen and lack of numbers left much to be desired. The location of the hotel was poor, in the middle of nowhere with no surrounding restaurants or bars, it was a 45minute bus journey into Bodrum which itself, was pretty scary due to the erratic nature of Turkish drivers! However the private beach area was lovely, with jetties and clear water, amazing views etc.
Overall our holiday was a success, stunning weather, a safe bed to sleep in, lovely pools and beach nearby. However, the hotel falls short due to its poor food and location. Would not recommend this hotel to families or the elderly, but for young groups or couples after a cheap bargain you can't go wrong, Turkey itself is beautiful, Hotel Crystal is not. 5*?! I'd say pushing a 3!

Well I went to this hotel for a week with my boyfriend's family and it upset us all! Food had flies on it! They served water in the drinks, which made people ill! The entertainment was crap and we were in the middle of nowhere so we had to get coaches to get to places! Double check coaches from this hotel because it might be not what you expect, we ended up on a tour to places we did not want to go!! Also my boyfriend & I paid to go the aqua park for the day with transport there and back from this hotel, which did not happen! we got left in the middle of a Turkish bus station and did not have a clue what to do next, we were made to get on a local bus, when we finally got to the water park we had to keep mothering the hotel to send some to pick us up later in the day because they gave us no details! So please just be careful cause this hotel can not be trusted! Even on our last day, our taxi was an hour late to take us to the airport and the hotel wanted us to pay extra money for keeping the rooms a few hours longer! I must add that one of our family members were very ill towards the end of our holiday and went to the on-site doctor which made her go to a medical centre miles away to get her put on a drip & have blood tests done, the treatment and medication cost us a very lot of money and I believe its due to the food and drink in this hotel! It spoiled her holiday and made ours a sham. So all I've got to say is if you come to this hotel be aware of all I've said.

not one to complain usually and I generally read others comments on hotels tongue in cheek and be generally sceptical on habitual moans from Brits who expect UK/USA conditions abroad no matter what HOWEVER
Where to start on this one ..........
No disco, no water sports, entertainment was frankly a joke and embarrassingly poor. Beach/bar was a dump.
Pool table had 8 balls - 1/2 (half) a cue
Pool area was lethal, missing tiles/slippery.
Supposed Fresh Water from machine WAS from the tap. DO Not Drink it !!
Bedrooms Ok though no balcony as requested
en-suite ..disgusting and in need of a refurb or decent clean. Soiled bed linen. TV not working fridge door hanging off,

At some stage this hotel possibly was a 4* the facilities when new possibly justified it...Now however, it needs a complete overhaul and refurb including unfortunately most of the staff who were at best tolerant !
Continual nauseating stench of sewerage in the resort grounds
20 mins by bus from local town Gumusluk 35 from Turgetries 50 from Bodrum so a bit on the remote side
On the positive side, Food was generally good with plenty of variation hot and cold
Good bus service to local towns to experience the real Turkey.

although the hotel is a 4 star i would still give it a 5, the hotel itself was clean and tidy, super for kids, the facilities were brilliant, myself being a fussy eater found there was always something i like never got ill or new anyone who got ill from the food or the drink, the staff really go out there way to make you happy, although the hotel is out the way there are resturants near the private beach i you want a change and more two minutes down the road by bus which are also very clean and cheap, never thought i would like turkey but its one of the best places ive been to.

if you want sunsets every night, peace and quiet, great service, go here *****

The hotel was nice enough, but not much else. Most of the staff were nice. The food and water made everyone ill. The water that we had to drink was tap not bottled the food wasn't fit for consumption. Myself and my family had sickness and most of the holiday which we didn't expect to have. We had to eat out diarrhoea most of the time. It wasn't what we expected for an all-inclusive holiday. PS. allot of people ended up in hospital with food poisoning. I advise no one to stay ever at this hotel.
