This really deserves its 5 star rating, a truly luxury resort. It is immaculately clean and well maintained. The photos on the web site don't do it justice. We were upgraded to a junior suit on arrival, a pleasant suprise.
The advantage of this hotel is the use of its sister Hotel's fascilities...a shuttle service runs between the hotels hourly and each hotel has its own ambiance.The Gloria Golf would appeal to the golfers, and is alot quieter and slightly more luxurious. However if you have young children the youngsters appear to have more fun at the verde.with waterslides and imaginative play areas. We took our 16 year old daughter and there is a plenty of activites for her age group too,with an enthusiastic team to encourage all nationalities to participate. The evening entertainment is varied in its standard of performance depending on the night.
The standard of food in the restaurant was very good,lots of fresh salads and herbs and plenty of choice although after 2 weeks it was fairly predictable. I would suggest trying the a La Carte
restaurants at both resorts, you can have 2 free meals outside of the main restaurant in a 2 week stay. I would recommend the Basilica restaurant at the Verde and the Italien restaurant at the Gloria Golf.Both were excellent. The service from all the staff was first class, despite their limited English they really tried to please, from the bell boy to the management team.
The beach is man made with sand as far as the eye can see and with Hotels on either side so there is some noise which can at times be intrusive.As can the noise of the water sports on the beach,the Gloria golf appeared quieter from that perspective
Be aware that this is an international hotel with an eclectic mix of nationalities ranging from Irish to Russian..and lots in between, the majority during our stay were definately Russian,
not always easy to converse with!!!Manners slightly lacking!
Tips: Try and get outside of the hotel and see other sides to Turkey..staying in this resort is a bit of a phantasy..this is not the real Turkey! I would recommend Aspendos and a performance at the Colluseum there. Also a trip to Antalya and Side.
Belek itself is a small touristy town with a meddley of shops and bored shopkeepers, be prepared to haggle and don't be tempted to sell your teenage daughter for camels(they spit!).
Remember it gets very hot in July /August so slap on the factor 30/40.
This is an opulent resort, a little bit of Nivana,
so enjoy and let the phantasy work its magic for whatever time you choose but don't forget to come home.

Top Local Tips for Belek

ROAD TRAIN / TAXI'S Roadtrain runs from outside hotel. If you are going into Belek board from hotel side - yes it goes the wrong way initially but at least you will get a seat and it only stops at a couple of hotels extra. Taxi ranks oppositefixed prices in Euro's. Works out 2 Euro's more than road train to use Taxi one way into Belek
