Fantastic holiday

have just returned from the Topkapi Palace with my patner and our two ten year old boys. When the two boys have tears in their eyes as you leave and are clinging onto your arm asking if they can come back here next year, you know you have hit the jackpot. The food was fantastic, even the extensive choice in the main restaurant was great quality and only gets repetitive if you a) go in the main restaurant every night because you cant be bothered to book an a la carte (some of which are free to book, some have a small head charge) and b) you are stupid enough to load your plate with the same food every night. Our two boys never complained about the food once apart from when the spicy chicken wings blew my sons head off (we were in the Mexican!!!) so I swapped with him and they blew my head off too.
The water slides were excellent, sunbeds were at a bit of a premium round the pool, although we never failed to get two together, and this was peak season. The activities for the kids was endless. The beach was stunning and quiet with a lovely light breeze. The sea was lovely and warm, there were even inflatables anchored in the sea for the kids to play on. The entertainment was pretty good and varied, it all runs on a two week program. Room was more than adequate for us, but all we did was sleep and wash there. We rarely had to wait long at the bar. As for rudeness, the staff were unbelievably friendly, the Russians were great and the only rudeness we encountered was from some English people. Infact some of the negative rubbish I have seen written here and on review sites has flabbergasted me, but you guys keep it up, because I want to go back next year, infact, don't believe a word I've said...The Topkapi Palace is rubbish, really really rubbish, honest you will hate the place. Boys pass me that brochure and break out your piggy banks I need the deposit!!!
Admittedly if you are just a couple or if you are older and looking for a quiet holiday were you can walk round a little fishing village and meet the locals, this place aint for you, but if you have a family and you want somewhere your kids can be safe and have a bit of freedom, this is a fantastic resort.
The international restaurant is to die for, it's hidden away, gutted we only discovered it on our last night. The turkish restaurant is fantastic too and unbelievably has no cover charge.

I didnt fancy Turkey as a destination, & after reading all the reviews I really wasnt looking forward to the hotel stay. I was travelling as a group of 3 friends, but once we had are 1st day there we were wondering how people can put this hotel down!! The room was lovely (a lot better than we hve had in the past), the pool is gorgeous, the food was really nice & we didnt find it repetative at all & there was always plenty to eat. The staff were very friendly, always smiling & the entertainment team were really nice too always asking us if we wanted to join in games.

The only downside to this holiday we found is that the evening entertainment wasnt as good as we expected (but this is just an opinion).

Overall the holiday was excellent, fantastic for families & couples, but not for a girls holiday. The shop in the hotel is VERY VERY VERY expensive make sure you have everything you need with you!! I will be returning with my partner at some point, cant wait to go back with him. I dont know how people can moan about this hotel, you want 5* then pay the prices, but im sure them kind of people would still find something to moan about!!

Before going to Topkapi we were a little worried because there were so many negative reviews! However we didn't need to be worried. We travelled as a family of 5, 2 Adults, and 3 children (12,14 and 17.) Flew with Thomas cook, was delayed both there and back, and didn't get the seats we wanted on the plane.
We went end of July/Beginning of August, so expected hot temperatures, and boy, we wasn't disappointed! It ranged from 35-41 the entire time we were there which was lovely! Although not everyone quite enjoyed the heat as much as myself. The hotel complex is amazing, absolutely gigantic! Beautifully built. It is very well kept and there were always staff around tidying, cleaning, etc the map your given really does come in help for the first few days!! The rooms were simple, not the best in the world, but your not really in your hotel room much so it wasn't as issue. The AC worked brilliantly, we kept an extra electricity card in to keep it running all day. The food was great, although speaking to some other people while we were there, they seemed to think compared to other all inclusive places it wasn't very impressive, but I certainly liked it! We only ever used the main buffet and never booked any of the other restaurants, but we didn't need to as there was more than enough variety - saying that, 2 of our group are vegetarians, and thought food for them got a little repetitive. Deserts were my favourite, AMAZING! Very tasty, and the best thing was you could have as much of whatever you wanted!! Especially nice were these little puff pastry like puddings, drenched in golden syrup, the literally oozed with it! The ice creams were well hidden, but once you find them you remember the route, offered corneto type ice creams with a choice of as many scoops of ice cream as you wanted from; strawberry, chocolate, caramel, lemon, vanilla. The pools were great, as were the slides, slight queues for the slides but nothing too much, we did find to get the best sun-beds, as with where you go on holiday you are best to reserve them early in the morning. The beach was lovely, offered lots of sun beds and hammocks to lounge around in, it also had many water sport activities. The beach pavilions' were excellent, very comfortable and provided lots of shade, and wasn't too expensive, however you don't get the waiter service your told you will, if you want a drink you have to go down and order it yourself, order lots more than you can eat at lunch, as it's the only time they bring food, and at in the afternoon they bring you down fruit (watermelon.) I would recommend the scuba diving, I think it worked out around £50 per person in English money, but was well worth it, amazing experience! The animation team.. What to say! They were UTTERLY AMAZING, really did love them! (Zhenya, Hakan, Todou, Great guys!) They were all very friendly, and so full of energy! Never ran out of enthusiasm, most of them spoke English pretty well which was a bonus (and the majority of them were very good-looking!) they have a club dance which they do at the end of every show each night, there is always something different on; Turkish night, magic night, bazillion street dance, monks, beach party etc and they also do the club dance by the poolside each lunch time, this was very fun! Great catchy little tune with a great dance to it, and they try get everyone involved. (just to note, the beach party was in my opinion the best night activity throughout our 2 weeks, was so much fun and definitely not to be missed! Music, dancing, drinking games, firework displays.) The only slight negative we had, which has come up in all the reviews, and is sadly true. is English people are a big minority there, which wasn't a problem at all for us, It has been said the hotel isn't for English people I don't think I'd agree, as I would more than happily go back tomorrow, but I guess it wasn't very English orientated.

I speak the absolute truth when I say that anyone giving a poor review to this hotel must either be a loon or a millionnaire. It's faultless, seriously. The complex is incredible, the food is amazing, the pools are great, everything is totally fabulous. There must be something wrong with those who hate this hotel, I've been here 5 times and it's been consistently good. We've taken friends every time, who have always been full of praise. Any faults elsewhere cited are usually not the fault of the hotel, but of ignorant guests.
Believe me and try this amazing hotel, you will not be disappointed!

THIS REVIEW WILL SAVE YOUR HOLIDAY !!!

I am one of the ‘victims' of this so-called resort. Yes I say ‘victim', because it was indeed a disastrous experience from the start to the very end. I am also a ‘fool', I say fool, because I believed every positive review I read about this hotel and ignored the few negative ones. In my humble opinion those ‘wonderful' reviews were actually written by the marketing team of this hotel in order to attract more fools like me.

I am a Turkish PhD student, studying in London. Last summer I decided to invite four of my college mates from the UK for a two weeks holiday in Istanbul (my hometown), Antalya and Bodrum. So I – the fool, went on to travel websites and tried to find the best looking hotel out there. As every Turk, we are proud people and we will do everything to promote our country at the best possible level, so that's why I decided to empty my pocket to impress my friends who have never been to Turkey before. And I saw (unfortunately) WOW Topkapi Palace, went to their homepage, looked at the ‘wonderful' photos and read the ‘wonderful' reviews AND concluded that this was going to be a ‘wonderful' holiday for all of us and booked two rooms one of them being 2+1.

I don't know where to start to be honest: food, service, rooms, sea, weather .. it goes on and on, because not a single thing can be described as ‘wonderful' in this hotel. While checked in I asked the receptionist, whether the rooms have a good sea view as requested. He said we have a great view of the swimming pool of the hotel next to us. This was the first sign of how this holiday was going to be ‘wonderful'. Well we went up to the rooms and found out that we actually see the wall of the hotel next to us and not the swimming pool but the screams from that very swimming pool. The rooms we nothing close to a five-star resort, and everything in the room was ordinary and simple. I was staying in 2+1 room me being the +1 had to sleep on the extra bed which they called it ‘bed', but I couldn't – coz it was one of those adjustable junks you won't even get in B&Bs. The bathroom was filthy and damaged, the towels and duvets were full of stains and plus the ‘wonderful' view, I felt like I had to go and complain. So I did. It didn't change anything much. The receptionist, comfort with the fact that we paid every penny in advance, was rude enough to tell us to go to another hotel if we were not happy.

And of course there is the food! Lets me put it this way: as someone study and live in England, I used to think the food in here was rubbish, but after this hotel, I found the English cuisine like a heaven food. Yes it was that horrible. And the worst part is; in order to avoid the even worse food of the open buffet – kind of food I wouldn't even give to my dog – I had to wake up before 9am to make reservation for the a'lacarte restaurants. Making reservation might me something easy to do, but not in this hotel. The lines for booking opens at exactly 9am and all tables would be fully booked by 9:02am, off course if you ever manage to get a free line to make the booking in these two minutes. So I found out getting a table would be impossible in these restaurants and decided to behave just like a Turk. I literally bribed the waiters to get a table and had an argument with the receptionist – putting my complaints forward and started bargaining for a table. It actually worked; both the waiters were happy filling their pockets and the receptionist to get rid of me. And off course us, for eating more eatable food.

I think they gave a good name for it: World of Wonders, because this hotel will certainly make you wonder where those wonders really are. But I can assure you, you won't be able to find them in this place. And DO NOT be stupid to go to Antalya in mid summer, it's boiling not only the high temperature but also the high levels of humidity, which feels like being in a sauna. I can assure you, there are much better places to go in Turkey and certainly this is probably the last place to go.

Just returned from this hotel. Enjoyed stay but not as good as expected. Check in quick and efficient hotel staff generally friendly and helpful. Hotel facilities great but this is a more family orientated hotel and could be termed "Childrens paradise". Rooms clean but small and surprisingly carpeted. As these are not vacumed daily/ weekly then it can lead to a problem with the cleanliness. Safe available in room free of charge but unfortunatley this operates via a key opposed to digital lock which means you have to carry it around with you. We haver previously had safes with digital locks which we have found to be both quicker and safer. Main Restaurant does not cater for the large number of guests and this leads to chaos and stressful dining. Staff are also limited in this area which means tables are not readily cleaned and available. As British are a minority in this hotel there is very little of our cuisine This mainly consists of burgeres and chips. Breakfast is a good meal however, despite the chaos. The speciality restaurants are excellent, unfortunatly you can only go once a week. The booking service is an experience as you have to ring at nine am and as the lines are continually engaged it get take a while to get an answer. Quite often these are booked up by 9.30 PS We went a couple of times to each and was never turned away - RESULT! Animation team is the usual entertaining stuff, but tended to favour males in pool games. It must be said the grounds are excellently maintained and the staff in this area do a great job. The pier is a great place to escape from pool games and noise. Unfortunatly whilst there is a bar there are no near toilet facilities. It is also possible to escape to the sister hotel, kremlin palace. This can be accessed via a gate in the hotel grounds. Unfortunatly for some unknown reason it is often locked. Access via the beach is possible.

Yes very disapointed with the room which was very dark and in urgent need of a coat of paint. The bathroom had mould round the bath. The balcony was a joke with cheap plastic chairs and not enough of them so we had to take turns sitting outside. Meal times were truly awful with canteen culture which they called a buffet. Food was bland and catered in the main for every nationality other than British.(out of over 2000 guests there were only 130 Brits). We failed completely in booking a table at the other restaurants in the complex. The spa, hairdressers and on site photographers are a complete rip off. Stay well clear. In fact stay well clear of the place all together. One of the main problems was a sudden and unexpected influx of people from a Middle Eastern country who we understand were offered this hotel as a last minute cheap holiday. And boy were they cheap. Their manners and hygiene left a lot to be desired. Sunbed towels were supplied but these people for some reason never had towels and would use the first one they came across. We watched one day in disbelief when they used other peoples sun tan lotion. They completely ruined the holiday and we were ready to come home at he end of the first week.
Good points. Well the pools were very large and very clean and the weather was fantastic. The brochure described the hotel as 5 star. I have stayed in better 4 star hotels and at best this is a 3 star. I am sure there are lots of nice hotels in Turkey. This is not one of them.

having stayed at Grida Village we didnt think we would find anywhere as nice, well we were wrong. Topkapi Palace is absolutely gorgeous from the minute you drive up to the entrance. We went as a party of 27 with both Adults and Children. We didnt arrive till about 2 in the morning all tired after a long day but when you get inside you are just so overwhelmed with the place that you are on a high and you cannot wait to explore. The staff are really nice and friendly, Rooms are excellent and really clean, the place is fantastic. We were there for 2 week and it was day 8 of our holiday before we went outside the gates to explore. There are numerous pools and it has its own waterpark which thrilled the kids for hours. You dont have to fight for sunbeds plenty to go round, the beach is spotless with sunbeds and hammocks and you can sunbathe on the pier.Spoilt for choice with the food in the Buffet Restaurant, then there is the Turkish, Italian or Fish Restaurant to choose from. Great choice of drinks with International brands. Entertainment is very good with shows every night then they have lots of other entertainment later on in the other bar.The Animation Team are brill with the kids. The rooms are lovely with own bathroom and shower, with Hairdryer in the bathroom. Mini Fridge which is filled everyday with soft drinks, beer and water,This place is 24 hr and if you want to eat and drink 24 hour you can!!we have booked to go again. If you like exploring then this is not the place to go because it is a bus/taxi ride everywhere but if you like to just chill out then go for it and enjoy !!
