A wonderful Hotel

We Stayed at The Sheraton for 10 days at the end of September-October.
This was one of the most Beautiful Hotels we have ever stayed in.
We only had room and breakfast, as we prefer to eat at different places in the evenings. We hired a small motor scooter and used to ride to the town.
The Hotel was spotless and our room always clean and tidy. We are so sad that it is no longer a Sheraton and hope the new company can keep the standards as they was when it was a Sheraton

We stayed at this hotel for a week in September 2006 - a truly lovely hotel just outside Antalya. The hotel was spotlessly clean with a great Spa the use of which was included in our Thomson Al Carte price.

The only downside of the hotel was the standard of the food - this was average and not up to 5* standard by any means. We were on half board and found the evening meal a much of a muchness and ate out by the harbour one evening.

There was a gate in the hotel grounds and steps down to the beach which was not great as it was all pebble. There was a hotel shuttle bus if required every hour. To be honest with the beautiful pool we did not go down to the beach to sit at all.

The drinks were a little pricey as were the lunchtime restaurants but when you stay at a Sheraton which is truly 5* and not holiday hotel 5* you must expect it to be expensive.

We had a lovely, relaxing time.

Whilst the Voyager is now a little dated compared to new 5* Antalya hotels, it still retains a certain assured quality, where service is efficient, the cooking accomplished, and the rooms generous.It also offers excellent value for money for stays in Spring and early summer.

Top Local Tips for Antalya

Dont leave without visiting the old city (Kaleici). My favourite place in Antalya is actually the old city (Kaleici). There is a lovely harbour there wher you can go for a boat ride, have a bite to eat or buy trinkets from the locals. On the main shopping street in the area there are also a large selection of shops with very reasonable proces, mainly because they cater to the local population. Kaleici also has some of the fabulous old Ottomon style houses which have been restored and an old museum. From the Sheraton it is about a 15/20 min taxi ride for about 7/8 Euro & well worth it.

Great seafood... If you want to try some authentic Turkish cuisine and seafood, head down to the beach park where you will find resturants, bars, nargile (sheesha), live bands and out door dance clubs but in partlicular a great little place called Deniz Balik Evi (www.denizbalikevi.com). You are served great starters and salads, and the mains are awesome. The grilled sea bass just melted in your mouth and the grilled shrimp still had the taste of the sea they were so fresh. For good measure, they also provide light entertainment by doing a little dance while balancing a water bottle on their heads...very amusing!

Good food low price! We took a taxi out to the old city which cost 6 lire o/w and there are many taxis to hire for the return. We ate at Anis tel:247 17 44 45 Antalya iskembe ve kebap salonu. Two appetizer, two main dish, a glass of wine and a soft drink cost 22 lire. The Beyti was good we were fighting to finish the last piece! It was a lamb dish, the lamb meat was rolled inside a thin Turkish pastry top with crusted pastach and served with yogurt. It's only 8 lira. Yum....
