This hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in. We were shown to our room which was in desperate need of decorating, dark&dingy,we walked staight out and found another hotel and had a lovely holiday. The Melissa was like something out of a 1960's holiday camp. The best thing about it was the reception.

Very basic accomodation. The food was awful, and catered more for german polish check and russian guests. We were the only british couple there. The drinks are watered down. We went all inclusive and had to pay to eat out all week. The staff couldn't understand english speaking. I think that it should be stated when they advertise this hotel that it is more for German ect., than British holiday makers. The beach is beautiful but apart from that we would not stay there again.

Well, this had been our second trip to Turkey & I can say I was certainly not let down. We stayed in Alanya and decided to stay in the Melissa Hotel because it seemed a nice place. Me my friend, my mum and her friend went together. I can honestly say that I enjoyed everything about the whole holiday. When we arrived we were greeted with a very warm welcome by the male receptionist, he was really friendly, as was all of the Reception staff. The Reception Desk can convert your currency amongst other things. The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels and toilet rolls were provided. We had a lovely view of the pool and the beautiful Kleopatra Beach from our room. There is a lift. Its quite small, I'd say 4 people could just about squeeze into it. There is a lovely sitting area in Reception with toilets and also theres a computer, which has the internet available for 1 Euro for a whole hour! Outside there are swings for small children and you can also play table tennis? Beside the Hotel there is a small barbers, they do plaits and all sorts. As well as the barbers, there is a small shop, which caters for all your needs. Both shops have very friendly workers, like all places in Turkey. The foods that were served every night included chips, chicken, fish and a whole range of delicious salad. In the mornings there were eggs, toast, crusty bread & a whole range of familiar cereals available, as well as tea and juice. Thats all I have to say, really. I just wanted to let holidaymakers or anyone whos interested in visiting the Melissa to go for it, because you wont be let down. One thing I have to say though, is that you do get charged for the sunbeds and umbrellas. But with this small fee you pay, the men that work in the several Beach Bars, tend to your needs every minute of everyday. I hope you will really enjoy your stay in Alanya, because I know I certainly did!

Must be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in the food was awful manageress even admitted she catered more for the Germans polish, cheque etc sunbeds were not free at the beach as it says in website. Also booked an excursion with Citrus Travel. "Anatayla by night" almost 6hrs on coach. coach to waterfall 10 mins there, onto gold place 2/1/2 hours there onto meal, 3/4 hour quite nice especially after food at hotel, onto Anatalya guide only told us about the steps down to the harbour at this point, far too many for us to even try, some people that did try only got to the harbour to find the boat had gone without them. Then onto market or bazaar as they call it. Not only was this market closed they were actually demolishing the place. We were dropped back at hotel too late for dinner (not that I minded that) we were dropped off at the end of a very lonely lane and had to manipulate 5/6 wonky steps in the dark 150 mtrs from our hotel. did not see the rep in the hotel again, we could have wasted 1 full day phoning and waiting in the hotel for him, but we felt we had wasted enough of our week. sea is not for children as it is a bit rough, area very quite nothing at all after 11pm. you would have to go into Alanya for any entertainment, and although its not that far it is on a ring road so it takes longer than the actual mileage states, all in all the worst holiday I have ever had in my life. We wanted cheap and cheerful. We got cheep, watered down drinks by the 4th day there was more water in the wine and beer than was in the bathroom. Cheap.
