Staff were friendly and obliging. Don't expect hot water in the morning and don't expect breakfast cereal,also the pillows were like bricks,very uncomfortable. There was a television but the only way you could watch it, was by lying flat on your bed as it was screwed high on the wall.

Yes this is a two star hotel with six star service. Basic to say the least and yes the beds are hard and yes you have to pay for Air Con, Other than that all i can say is that the Berkan is a real Jewel of a Holiday Experience. I and my young family (4 Kids aged 6,7,9,11 Plus Missis)had a fabulouse Time. You do feel part of the family and the service is Phononamal. Hassan and Dennis should be entered in Waiter of the year but nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff. I and my family enjoyed our stay more in the Two star Berkan than some of the Five star Hotels we have stayed in.
Put simply When we go back to Turkey, It will be to the Berkan

I have been to the Berkan Hotel many times, and i agree with most of the reviews i have read.( I have also been to many parts of Turkey over the last twenty years and boy have I stayed in some hotels). But getting back to the Berkan, well the rooms could be updated and a little cleaner, but if you make your concerns known at reception it will be done. (well it has been for me). The family and staff make you feel most welcome and nothing is a bother to them if you want /need something, and as far as the food goes its very nice, filling and you get good portions, I keep in touch with the family and are going in june this year, so i will pass on all your comments. And alot of the people who have wrote these comments want to remember it is a 2star hotel price reflects that, so i would surgest these people up there budget to 4star plus, but Turkey being Turkey stars dont mean a great deal.

There is nothing bad about the Berkan Hotel, would certainly stay again. Rooms perhaps in need of refurbishment, but clean and adequate, owner and staff absolutely first class!
In desperate need of updating.

The staff worked hard and were in general very friendly, a little "over" friendly if you're not a "touchy feely" person. The pool is a disaster area with vents missing leaving big holes around the pool, an accident just waiting to happen, tiles very slippery when wet. Several guests suffered with ear infections, can't say for sure it was the pool but it certainly pointed in that direction. Beds were like lying on bricks with flat brick pillows. Air conditioning was extra and expensive (I thought) 70 YTL a week (about £35), something that should be included in your room price. Food was ok, cooked fresh. Lots of restaurants nearby all hassling to get you in. A little tip - theres a guy in front of the hotel that sells bagels with either chocolate or cheese filling and they are delicious and cost about 30p each, well recommend you get one of those. For what we paid, I suppose it wasn't too bad, but if you can afford a bit extra I'd advise going somewhere else.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, but the rooms were shabby with old hand painted furniture and extreemly uncomfortable beds. The bathroom was covered in mold and the towels were never changed all the time we were there. The tiled floor of the room was quickly swept but never washed. Anyone staying there, should also know that air conditioning is not included in the price(this is not stated on any of the paperwork that you recieve) and is not cheap to have switched on. The pool and sunbathing area was dangerous with large holes around the pool making it impossible for children to play safley. The food in the hotel was good and its location was ideal for the beach and shops. I think the family should spend some money on improving the condition of the hotel to increase their popularity.

The family and staff that run the hotel are wonderful nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are clean,simply furnished, fresh linen every day. The food is freshly cooked to order and great value the dining area is much nicer that the photo's we had seen. 2* Hotel with 5* service. The only negative point is thst the pillows are very hard.
So fab it hurt to leave !!!!!

What can I say, once again a very enjoyable stay.
Highly recommended, great food, great company, great value for money. Couldnt praise the staff any higher.

When my family and I arrived we were surprised at how basic the room was - but the staff and service more than made up for it over the two weeks we stayed. Everyone was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you - fantastic and brilliant. The food at the hotel was wonderful and you could eat there for the whole fortnight - it was so cheap!!! Very very highly recommended!
