Rooms are clean. Toilets and shower are shared. At night it can be noisy outside. But with closed widows its quite.

I had a big Problem with the Staff. My booking agent booked me one day to short.
As I tried to so solve this on the reception, the only answer I got was: We don't care! Go some where else. The guy got really unfriendly. I booked there several weeks before. But this didn't count either.
Than he took my money and put me on the street.

I would not have stayed here if it had been free!

The "hotel" is overpriced for what you get. I checked in and immediately checked out. My room was the size of a closet. I'm from San Francisco and used to living in small apartments, but this place was like nothing I have ever seen. Too small, and too dirty for my taste. Pay $40 to $50/night and check into a real hotel. My old dorm room was 10x nicer than this place. Avoid!

You get what you pay for... maybe even less!

The Zic-Zac Rock Hotel is a great idea for a hotel, and has a tremendous location in the heart of beautiful Zurich, Switzerland. Beyond that, you will get what you pay for. An inexpensive nightly price gets you a dorm-style bed and a shared bathroom. The appeal of the artist-inspired rooms is not carried out in real life, and as an example, I was privied to the 'Lenny Kravitz' room which did not have a single image of that artist. If you expect to spend the majority of your time exploring the city, then Zic-Zac should suit your needs, but if you are a rock-n-roll enthusiast, expect your expectations to be left unfulfilled.

Easy to reach in the center of everything you need to see in Zurich. I was there in summer and cooked, the ventilation was poor. The bed was comfortable and the price was okay!

I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodation, the room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The shower in the room was only a modular one, but adequate. The lift was very old and small but functional. The staff were all young and very helpful. The location was ideal, based in the old restaurant district and only 10 min walk from central station. It was great value for the budget price we paid.

We had really good time in Zurich at this hotel! The white beds and the theme's rooms are unique & fantastic. Just a thing we didn't like a lot: we took the room SAGA and we didn't know them! But we appreciated the bar and its t-shirts!

Ah, the Zic Zac Rock Hotel could be SO much better if it just wanted to! The rooms are a little more like "cells" than rooms...I know, I know, it's a relatively cheap place to stay in a great part of Zurich, but still... it's not as cheap as a youth hostel so it really should offer a little more than that. Which it doesn't ... I'm going to stop before I reconsider my rating and go lower... I just remembered that I didn't even get a pillow!

I booked this hotel by internet and I didn't know how would be. My friends and me were looking for fun and our surprise was that Zic Zac Rock is a cool club-bar in the main pubs street in Zurich. And is under the hotel so you don't need to walk so much if you want to have some fun. The room was nice and warm to sleep well. It is in the city center close to the railway station. I enjoyed it so much and receptionist were very helpful.

Top Local Tips for Zurich

Saving money beer and travel - BEER - don't drink in the middle of town... Think of it as the equivalent of London's Leicester Square - how many Londoners actually go to a pub there? None... Go out of the centre a bit, away from the tourist traps. - TRAVEL... However long you are here for, there is bound to be a suitable discount card that will save you loads of cash getting about. Even spendng CHF150 on a Half-Fare Karte can save you loads if you whizzing around on trains. The public transport system here is truely awsome, don't even think of hiring a car, let the "train take the strain" (as they used to say in the UK before it was al privatised...)
