We stayed in this hotel because it was close to the start of the Ironman Switzerland and because we believed that there would be ample space to lock up our bicylces. The room we were given was very small and only big enough to house the bike boxes and we ended up keeping our bikes in our rooms, which meant very little free space to move about. The manageress was extremely rude to me during our stay there, they apparantly had made a mistake with our bookings and despite the fact that I had booked and paid for 1 double and 1 twin en-suite room, 7 months prior to our arrival, they didnt have a twin room for me and was told that I could have one single room with two beds in it or find another hotel, obviously I did not need/deserve this sort of treatment. The manageress did get up to give us breakfast at 4am which was a fantastic gesture, but the breakfast itself was definitely not worth getting up for, and fortunately most of us had brought in our own supplies of porridge and fresh bananas. The rest of the staff were really pleasant and even though this lady reduced me to tears they did try to calm her down and coaxed her to find a solution to the hotels apparant mistake. No air-con in the rooms and the streets are very noisey.

We stayed at this hotel during the last week of 2006. We only have good things to say: a friendly staff; a quiet neighborhood; walkable to the central place and the station; good breakfast; clean rooms. And very affordable! What more can you ask........

I have been staying in hotels in zurich every month for the last five years and this hotel is the most relaxed, no designer hotel. It is more like you have arrived in some small swiss village with great staff conditions and attitude!

Quiet and Convenient

Quiet location conveniently close to the city center (12 minutes by foot along an arm of the lake --- no traffic). Very friendly staff. Our mattresses were comfortably firm, and there *was* shampoo provided, but no hair dryer. The room was clean, but small (but we were not in Zurich to stay in our room). I will book here again, should I return to the area.

Too expensive for its services

Clean, quite area 5 minutes from the city center. BUT for 112CHF = 75€ (1 bed + ensuite facilities), probably you can find something better. The worst matresses ever, and they didn't bother to change sheets for the 3 nights I spent there. Bring your own shampoo as well.
