I liked this hotel for its traditional decoration and furnishings. Location is great as it is in the middle of the city and just minutes walking distance to the Central Railway Station.

Top Local Tips for Zurich

Use the trams! As part of your stay you are given a free pass to public transport. The trams were a great way to get around (get a route flyer from the Information Office near the station). With typical Swiss efficiency they ran frequently and on time - you even had an electronic board at many stops to show in how many minutes the tram would be arriving. Even though we had a pass and we saw other people buying tickets we never saw anyone checking them!

Public transport in Zurich - don't waste your money on airport cabs Public transport is fantastic - don't waste your money on getting a cab from the airport - the railway station is within a two minute walk of arrivals and trains are clean, punctual and plentiful. For six francs (about £3.00) you can get to the city's main station or even further - and you can get a combination ticket which allows you on buses, trams and trains for a whole 24 hours from validation (from the time of your first journey).

Getting around Go to the ticket office at the main station where they will advise you of the best deals on trams and trains.
