Hotel Krone Unterstrass was a hotel located 15 minutes walk from the centre of the old town and 5 minutes by tram. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. We did have some trouble getting our room when we arrived but seeing as check in was not until 2pm we could not complain too much. Rooms were not huge but not the smallest we had seen. The website did say that the rooms all had timber floors but ours still had the carpet. Overall it was a good hotel with a tram stop right out front so the distance to the old town and train station was not a problem. We would probably stay here again if in Zurich.

Awesome system! The train station is in the basement of the airport and it takes you right to the center of Zurich. The main station in the middle of Zurich is the busiest station in Europe, according to the tour guide. It also has an underground mall and a market place. Since we were there so close to christmas there was a great christmas market (have francs for shopping). The from the train station the whole city can be navigated via tram (cable cars) or by walking. It is really a small and safe city. The only trouble I had navigating the system was leaving the airport, the signs were not very good.
