Like most advertised movies, always give the best shot of the facade. So are most internet advertised hotel, like Montana hotel in Zurich. Give Best Western imprimatur a bad name. The Absolute Worst hotel, ever. And I for one will never book hotel on line. Unless, the ones I have been to like Wellenberg Hotel, absolute heaven.

Top Local Tips for Zurich

Street Parade The whole city center is one big party, even McDonalds has a DJ. For anyone into electronic music, this is a must-do event. Even if you're not into the music, if you like large parties/festivals where it is wall to wall people having fun, it is the best reason to go to Zurich, usually the 2nd Saturday of August. If you dont like crowds and young people, avoid Zurich that weekend

Boat rides At the end of the Bahnhofstrasse is a boat dock, and you can take boat trips to towns around the lake. I especially recommend Rapperswil, which is known as the city of roses. The rose gardens were in bloom when I was there, and the town is lovely, with much of it on a hill above the lake.
