An almost perfect hotel: Great food, charming piano bar. Overall atmosphere and, best of all, fantastic service by one and all. Doesn't get maximum rating only because of small room size.
But no doubt an unforgettable experience, which, unfortunately, I can't afford to repeat so soon.

runs intermediate skiing. Don not go in first two weeks in January unless you are Russian.

Have your bags sent! You can ship your bags from your home airport to Zermatt by contacting Swiss Rail on line. Our luggage came a few hours after us, but the snowboards came the next morning -- at breakfast. It is hard to carry all that stuff on the train.

Glacier Express There are a number of ski areas, but make sure you take the Glacier Express from Zermatt up to the Gornergratt and even beyond. The views are amazing. You don't have to be a skier to do this – you can simply travel up there for the view and something to eat.
