Wengen During Lauberhorn World Cup Race Week Typically Wengen hotels book Saturday to Saturday, and if you time your trip correctly, you can watch the final day of the World Cup and not be charged the sky-high rates of the prior full week. There are lots of apres-ski parties with the racers, and there is nothing quite like an Alpine village during World Cup Race Week.

Good value: 6 day Bernese Oberland Pass We used the half-fare card to buy the 6 day unlimited Bernese Oberland Pass and it was really good valur for money. Our trip was last June so I can't remember exactly how much it cost but for updated info please use the several websites available regarding transport info in Switzerland. Needless to say that the public transport is 100% efficient, clean and reliable. Plus: very friendly staff and beautiful mountain trains!
