DOCTORS THE DOCTORS IF FAB , SPEAK VERY GOOD ENGLISH AND SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL.

Travel on the rail system Make sure you get a Jungfrau Rail Pass which entitles you to FREE travel within the selected Jungfrau area for 6 full days... it cost 145CHF (£62) per person and saves a fortune if you're hopping on and off the trains to get to places.

Great activity not in the brochures Anyone visiting this area is able to collect brochures of things to do by the bucketload. However, one of our favourites does not appear in a brochure. If the day looks fine, take the train/gondola to Grindelwald and the bus to Grosse Scheidegg. From there walk down the Rosenlaui valley to Meiringen. This is a long walk but not strenuous (mostly level or slight incline). The scenery is so different to that which dominates much of this area - beautiful streams, working farms and craft industries and considerable woodland. The beautiful mountains are still around but they appear so different from this perspective. From Meiringen it is probably best to return to Wengen on the train via Interlaken as there are more travel options later in the day. Also, if you want to reduce the trip - stay on the bus beyond Gross Scheidegg to Schwarzwaldalp. This can reduce the walk by about and hour and a half.
