Top Local Tips for Verbier

skiing ability Had read that this area had some of the most difficult skiing. That may be true but we found that all of the designated pistes/runs were not too challenging. Even when we went off piste we never encountered our idea of double black. The mountain may be high but you have to go looking for the steeps. We knew they were there and for expert skiers who want them. Being intermediate /advanced skiers, we had a fabulous time both on and off-piste. Have a look at the areas labelled "itinerary". They arn't designated "off-piste" but remain ungroomed and have some spectacular long mogul territory

Great ski conditions Went last week of January 2008, good snow all round and through out the village. With regular dumps of snow to maintain. Late afternoon slopes become a bit cut up. Reasonably full but no que's on lifts etc for more than a couple of minutes. Appears that mid to late Jan a quieter period with Feb filling up.
