Top Local Tips for Lucerne

Parking We parked outside the city walls near via Roma the first time and had to hike up a long street (via Roma) the first time. Drive instead to Piazza Garibaldi where there are lots of parking and is a easier walk to the Piazza Republica.

Private Cooking Class If you're interested in learning something about Tuscan cooking, ask them to arrange a private cooking class for you with Erichetta and Claudia. It was a terrific experience! Claudia reviewed the menu with us in the morning to make sure we were okay with everything they would prepare (vedura ripiende, gnocchi con salsiccia e vedura, stracietta, chocolate souffle), then we spent about 2 1/2 hours in the kitchen with Erichetta, followed by a wonderful candle-lit meal outside on the patio. It was a perfect evening!
