The Ritter is the oldest part, founded over 200 years ago.
A large number of the Victoria rooms have been face lifted and are therefore in a very good state.
The kitchen is excellent; employees and management are very friendly.
The indoor pool is a bonus.
Good facilities for children, even for babies.
The hotel is placed in the town's centre, a few minutes walking from the local train station.

Top Local Tips for Kandersteg
Places to visit if you are a family arrive by car or hire a car to get the greatest flexibility to see the Bernese Oberland. If you are a hiker or skier then you can walk from the hotel but there are lots of things to do in the region. The lakes, the towns like Luzern, Thun and Interlaken, Spiez and Murten and the City of Bern and the villages are a drive away. Museums at Ballenberg, Brienz with traditional Swiss farmhouses or the Verkerhaus Museum in Luzern with all types of transport offer alternatives or the Mystery Park in Interlaken. You can go from Spiez, just to the north of Kandersteg on the lake of Thun, to Interlaken or Thun by boat. Most of all you can enjoy the stunning alpine scenery by hiking from Kandersteg or visiting Grindlewald, Murren and Kiental and many more wonderfull locations. Take the car train from Kandersteg, station is five minutes from the hotel, and visit Saas Fe or Zermatt in one day returning to the hotel.
Swiss transport Swiss transport is superb-so well co-ordinated.You must use it -leave your cars at home!
hire a car Hiring a car means you save time and its cheaper than the train. The roads are good and you can get to places you can`t reach quickly by train. Go through tunnel on car train and go to Zermatt, super day out. Another day do wengen and Grindlewald, jung...Lake Thun and Spiez, shopping in Bern,

Local facilities are literally on the doorstep - you can step straight out the back door onto the cross-country ski trail. The ice rink and curling centre is just round the corner, and of course the hotel has its own indoor heated pool.
Although the hotel is expensive (but everything in Switzerland is expensive!) I would rate it very good value for money.
