Great hotel, spa and service

This is a great hotel. The people were friendly, forthcoming with information, the rooms were lovely, the spa was great, the location was fantastic. Much better treatment than what we got the 2 nights that we stayed at the Sunstar.

Top Local Tips for Grindelwald

excursions The price to take the cog rail to Jungfraujioch is worth every penny. I spent 3 hours at the top. Bring layers because it can be hot on one side and windy and cold on the other.We also took a hike to the Bachalpsee from the cable car station at First, then started down to Bort. The hike takes much longer than the signs suggest ( like twice!) unless you are hiking for exercise. We were walking at a brisk pace but stopped to take photos of the lake and vistas and we had to take the bus down from Waldspitz because we would have missed the last cable car from Bort. I would start from Gridelwald by 1pm to make the 4:45 car down from Bort. Bring water because it is south facing and very hot.
