Top Local Tips for Stockholm
Day trip to Drottningholm Palace Take a boat ride to Drottningholm Palace from near the Central Station. It takes about an hour to get there and the trip is really enjoyable. The Palace is great and gardens are lovely but it's good to remember that the Palace and other buildings close at about 3.30pm so it's best to go in the morning to have enough time to see everything.
Thielska Gallery This was the best museum we visited in Stockholm. A beautiful Art Noveau building, glorious location and a great collection of late 19th century Scandanavian art. The Munch collection is particularly strong.
Speaking Swedish... Don't worry, everyone we met spoke perfect English!

Designer hotel - very modern and cool.

Great location - near the Metro (5 mins to the center of town) or 10 mins walk. 20 mins to the Old Town.
Nice area - lots of trendy bars / cafe's and restaurants nearby.
Negatives...
Our room (406) was very small. Not helped by the sloping ceilings. I would recommend asking for a room not on the top (4th floor)
Noise - as the room was small the bed was right next to the door. As a result we heard all the noise from the corridor, and the maids chattering and cleaning each morning... don't expect a lie in past 8.30!
Overall a nice hotel but be choosy about your room or go for the swankier sister hotel Hellsten over the road.
