Way to save money. Definitely look into purchasing the Stockholm Card. It provides free transportation for ALL public transportation and free access to most of the major museums and sites you will probably be visiting, including the ship, the Vasa!

fast train During the summers, a family can travel on the Arlanda Express (the fast train from the airport) at essentially half-cost. Up to 4 kids ride free, and you and a significant other ride at about the same cost as a single ticket. You travel at speeds exceeding 100 mph and arrive at downtown in only 20 minutes. it's super efficient.
