Fabulous!
from clayoI loved the heated floors in the bathroom, soap dispensors and very light, open feel of the entire hotel. I would stay there again if I needed to.
Perfect for Budget Travelers
from PetmarThe hotel may not be for everyone. The hotel is huge and it there is nothing charming or quant about it. The breakfast is very good, but can feel like a feeding frenzy when it is crowded. Due to the number of guests that they can service, the hotel takes a beating. In the four months between my two stays the hotel hallways appeared to have aged. However for the price it can’t be beat. If you want a romantic and charming hotel, go to old town. If you want a clean, inexpensive, centrally located and friendly hotel, this is the perfect choice.

Just unforgetable
from BadenPowellBig rooms, wonderful furniture (very stylish) with all facilities.
Breakfast...I think they haven't forgot nothing (even japanese breakfast), quantity, quality and flavour with a view.
You have subway 20 metres from the front door, but you can easely go walking to the city centre in 20/30 minutes (straight and quiet walk).
The neighbourhood is calm and safe.
I just can say thank you and recommend it to everybody.
Very good hotel but......
from traveller137nice residential area with not so many tourist around. full of small
restaurant and good shops - see gotgatan -
the hotel is really impressive on your arrival, looks like entering
a modern museeum with extra large hall. rooms are small but
very clean and modern.the only problem is that with hundreds of
room the breakfast it's not easy. huge table with great assortment
but we had difficult to find things due to the large number of people
present, too much confusion for the morning.
staff friendly but not completely helpful.
i will be back again maybe not in august...
Excellent Hotel
from Jude100Great value
from RichDCThe standard room we had was definitely small, but efficiently layed out with nice minimal decor. So it didn't seem too claustophobic. You might try a bigger room if one is available. Our only complaint about the layout of the room was the smoked glass door leading to the bathroom. It meant that if one person woke up in the middle of the night and had to go, the light brightened the main room for the other person.
They could also use a bit more attention to maintenance. The rooms and corridors have very light beige carpeting that was stained and looked dirty. They need to either clean it or replace it because it makes a bad impression. The shower head in our room was chipped, which meant that some of the water sprayed out the side instead of the front, but that was replaced in a day after I complained. Also, one mirror behind the front door to the room was splattered with gunk, so I couldn't call the housekeeping "immaculate," but it was fine, really (other than the light carpets), and I'm rather picky about such things.
Also, the air conditioning in the room was very weak. We had someone look at it but they said that was how it was supposed to be. Hmm, not sure. I'm used to weak European air conditioning, but this seemed too weak. They did at least unlock the window for us so it could be opened part way. That kept the room comfortable and there wasn't much outside noise to bother us.
As others have said, the free breakfast was excellent. Great variety and darn good quality too. Indeed, given the price of food in Stockholm, it was almost like getting a free room with the purchase of two breakfasts! The dining room was rather institutional though ... just one huge room with long tables. But the staff is to be credited for keeping the buffet replenished despite the hordes of hungry people decending on it.
The location wasn't bad, though not as central to things as would be ideal. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to the center of things, or you could take the subway a couple of stops. There, were, however, a good variety of restaurants in the area ... including one that actually did serve very good Swedish meatballs.
Top Local Tips for Stockholm
Transport from the Airport Take the Arlanda Exress or the bus. The bus runs late into the night whereas the tarin stops at 1230 am. Both arrive at the central metro station and you should be able to get the metro from there to anywhere esle in the city.
Stockholm Card or Travel Card & Airport Transfer Buy the 3 days travel card for SEK190 (1 day is SEK90 and 2 days is not available) which allows you to use all busses, trams, trains, tubes in the city. Stockholmcard is quite expensive and only worthwhile if you go to a lot of Museums! Be aware as Museums offer student discount but not the Stockholm card. Getting to and from the airport is easy with the bus and costs for students only SEK65 and normal adults were around SEK98. It takes only 40 Min from Airport to TCentralen and runs when the Express trains have stopped and very frequently (I think every 10 Min).
The archipelago Get a canoe and go round the archipelago, dont bother with the tourist boat, go get a canoe!
