Top Local Tips for Lidingo

Using Stockholm Card to see the most sites Defintely get a 3 day Stockholm card. Plan ahead so you use it and get the mileage out of it. You can use it for the ferries to Durrgarden, the subway, and city buses, plus get free admission to the museums. For example, in Gamla Stan go to the Palace and take in the Treasury and other exhibits and then see the Nobel musem and Stockholm cathedral. You can also tour the Postal Museum but given a choice I would walk across the bridge to Riddarholmen cathedral where all the kings of Sweden are buried. That would be one day. A second day would be Durrgarden. There is so much to see and it is spread out so once on the grounds, to see it all hop on bus #47 which does a loop through it. This is a great place if you have children. Third day might be Drottingholm Palace, you get half off the round trip 40 minute ferry ride to the palace. If you leave early, you will be back in Stockholm in time to see the National Art Gallery; otherwise there will not be time left for other valuable museums.

Vasa Museum Go there first thing in the morning! I went at lunch time and had to wait in line for 40 mins! Crap!
