This Hotel is a cut above.. It is a paradise. Great bunch of staff, fantastic food,comfortabl stay.. over all everything is 10/10 Great experience.

Nice Hotel on the Beach

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in July 2004. Very nice hotel. Staff was very accomodating. Breakfast spread was better than what I am used to (not merely a continental breakfast). Hotel is literally just a few feet from the beach. Every room is ocean view. Would stay here again.

Just got home on 9/26/04 from 10 days in Spain on a Globus tour. Stayed at the Melia while in Torremolinas. This is a beautiful, modern, clean, well-situated hotel!! Right on the beach, beautiful pool, great breakfast buffet. Lovely, safe area for walking around at night, typical resort/tourist shopping. All the restaurants we tried for dinner were very good. Great Sangria everywhere. Also good location for a day trip to Gibralter. We'd highly recommend this location - and the Globus tours!

We stayed at this hotel while on tour last week. It was just a wonderful place to rest and enjoy our balcony view of the pool and the coast.

this hotel was in a great position and we could walk straight over the road to the beach and just up the hill to the main shops. the people were very friendly and brekky was very yum and filling. i definetely recommend staying here!!!!!

Great Location and good hotel

Great location....beach is only 100 meters away. Lots of good little beach restaurants right nearby ("Los Gallegos" is great). Stairs/elevator are right nest to the hotel that will take you to the top of the cliffs where all the shopping and nightlife are.

The rooms were clean and quiet. It did not have an iron in the room and none was available from the front desk, so fold neatly!

The staff did accomodate us by giving us another room that met our needs better (a queen bed as opposed to two singles).

The pool area is not large, but was more than enough. Just get there early for a chair!

I would definitely stay there again. We paid about $120 per night on Expedia to stay from July 2nd to 5th, 2004.

We asked for the air-conditioning to be switched on but the reply was "it is broken". Then, we asked if we could at least have the fan switched on. Again, we received the same reply but this time she turned her head to another staff and giggled. None of them were helpful and spoke much English. Only thing that was good about this hotel was the breakfast.

We have visited this Hotel on many occassions and found it to be ideal for those with toddlers,the spanish love children andthos clearly shows in ther attitude at this hotel.ther is a small pool beside the main pool wich is ideal for young uns.

This is a faultless hotel - everything about it is good. We have stayed in Torremolinos before but not at the Melia. On our last visit, we sought out what we thought was best, from a location and comfort point of view and picked out the Melia. We have just returned from a stay there in April 2004 and rated it even better then we had expected. Everything is in pristine order, the service is professional - even the buffet breakfast was better than the usual spanish standard. I'm sure you'd be pushed to find anything better in Torremolinos.....

This is a great hotel in an excellent location, the staff are friendly and the service first class. The rooms all have a sea view and are fully carpeted, ours had satellite TV, Internet connection, hair dryer etc. The breakfast was very good and even included champagne

Excellent hotel !! The view, the location, the room, the price was perfect. San Miguel Plaza is just a 10 minute scenic walk up the side of the hill.

Room service was excellent. Breakfast was included.

Top Local Tips for Torremolinos

Not always sunny We went 10 - 17 February 2008. the weather was cold and very windy with almost no sun. Our friends went in January and had lots of sun and 25 degrees. Just don't count on it.

Getting to Torremolinos We did not realize we needed to catch yet another train to Torremolinos once we arrived in Malaga. I suppose you could take a cab but it would be pricey for sure. So, be alerted--once you arrive in Malaga, you will need to ask about the local train to Torremolinos. Once you arrive here (by train or bus) I would suggest getting cab. The beach hotels are proximate, but they are about 3-500 ft below the city area where you arrive. You can walk it, but with luggage a cab is much easier.

Outdoor fun The pool has a kiddie pool that is fun for children. Side trips to Mijas, Marbella and Malaga are a snap, my son keeps asking to return to "ride donkeys in Mijas". There is a water park, marina park and amusement part for children. There are nightclubs and evening tapas bars fun for adults and young adults. The shopping is great, even with the devalued dollar. The weather is fantastic, warm days and gorgeous nights.
