| Very shabby and tired hotel |
| This hotel could be extremely good. It is in a convenient position with the local rail station 5 minutes walk, the main road into Torremolinos or Malaga outside the front door, and the beach 15 minutes walk. It has a good pool and pool area and the staff are hard working and pleasant.
Thats all the good bits. Our rooms were extremely shabby and very basic with iron framed single beds pushed together (called a double), broken light fittings, holes where electrics had been, sliding doors to the balcony (overlooking a scruffy area) which could not be locked. Worst of all, the air conditioning was totally inefficient and the switch controlling it was missing. The staff are hard working because there isn't enough of them. At times the bar was unattended for long periods and rubbish was not being collected from the public areas for hours at a time. The breakfast was hit and miss with a couple of days being inedible (some sort of scambled egg with bits in it which was burnt). The hotel advertises a gym, sauna and jacuzzi, which we couldn't find or maybe it just wasn't open. Same for it's centre of communications - didn't exist as far as we could see. There is a pool bar which is closed (lack of staff ?) and also a large disco building which is also closed. It could be very good, but unfortunately isn't. It shouldn't merit a 3 star rating because of the state of the rooms and the service (not the fault of the staff). |
