The area of the hotel was lovely, and it was easy to get into Puerto either by the courtesy bus or by walking - though a little bit more difficult coming back, 223 steps to climb! It is a mainly German holiday area in fact we only found two other English speaking people in the hotel whilst we were there. The food (buffet) was plentiful and very varied. The chefs were constantly replenishing the dishes. There is a microwave at hand if needed. Our main concern was the noise - DO NOT contemplate a room on the back - this is a one way street and used by heavy goods vehicles day and night. A room on the third floor upwards at the front would take you away from traffic and offer a good view. There were things to do during the day and nightly entertainment. We considered it good value for the money.

Top Local Tips for Puerto de la Cruz

Try the local bus Never bother to hire a car on Tenerife. The local bus is reasonably priced and fun to ride on. Titsa is a well run company, and time tables are easily understood.

Lack of sunshine If you arrive to find 100% cloud coverage, consider travelling to a different part of the island for the day, there is likely to be sunshine elsewhere!
