This is our 11th year in this hotel. The hotel itself is its usual good standard. However, the quality of the food has seriously declined . For example this 4 star hotel is now including hamburgers and scrambled egg dishes amongst their other dinner dishes. There is no substance to the food provided with many dishes being of the sloppy variety, overcooked and tasteless. The deserts were repetitive, predictable and boring. It's a shame that this happening as it spoils what is otherwise a lovely hotel. We will not be returning for a considerable time. It may also be worth noting that the resort is suffering badly due to the introduction of all-inclusive deals in a lot of the hotels --- this is leading to many businesses closing down. The place is a ghost town compared to what it used to be.

Top Local Tips for Puerto de la Cruz

Parking and car hire Hire a car to see the "real Tenerife" it is really beautiful. Park for free at the harbour. Stroll back and forth to the car (15 mins). Or pay 28 euros a day to park locally!!!! Ouch. Double park to check in and out(one of you stay in the car). Leave luggage in luggage room. Easy peasy lemon squeezy no hauling your luggage around.

beach beach near hotel i went for a paddle in sea with bare feet briefly; and came out with cuts and grazes where my feet were pummelled by rocks and stones ;sea very rough wldnt recommend for non or weak swimmers.

Free car park next to the harbour There was always loads of room, and it was quite easy to find
