I have stayed at the Princesa Dacil eight times in the past, but before last summer, I have not been there since 1994. Even despite that, one member of the hotel management staff remembered me!!
Although hearing many criticisms, I have always found the Dacil to be an excellent hotel. The views from the upper floors (especially the north side, facing towards Los Cristianos) are spectacular. My only one minor issue - hence the 9, rather than 10 rating, is that the rooms are serviced much too late in the day. Sometimes it is as late as 5pm before this is done.
Now that I am retired, I intend, as far as possible, to visit the Dacil twice a year for two or three weeks at a time.
Just one question, why have all the UK package holiday companies dropped the Dacil from their brochures? It doesn't really make much sense given the hotel's obvious popularity.

The hotel is great, you can't fault the staff or the hotel. It's clean and very well positiond. It's my 8th time at the hotel with my family, 2 teenagers and my wife and me. We have never had any problems and we flew out on the 25th of December. It's great when you can get the flights on xmas day. Entertainment is great You can't fault it, we have just been on 24th october 2008, and arrived back today, If you are the type with a family this is the hotel for you!

We holiday at the Princesa Dacil three times a year. The hotel is in the perfect position to all amenities. Food is varied and there is always something even for the most fussy eaters. Rooms are clean. We always request a pool room view on the first floor as you can easily walk down the stairs. We usually stay by the pool during the day so yes I have to get up early to get a sunbed. There is a lot of building work going on in Los Cristianos at the moment but it will be worth it. We usually have a drink in the Fountain and Dolce Vita and watch the show in Chicagos. The Lucky Lucky men are great we have a bit of banter with them. You can have a nice stroll down by the harbour and if you go through the tunnel you can walk up to Las Americas where there are some great shops. We are flying out next week for another holiday and cannot wait to see how far they have got with the work along the sea front.

Just returned and the hotel is very nice, food very good ,the only thing that lets this hotel down, big style,is sunbeds....not enough for size of hotel and you have to line up, anything from 7am, when doors open it is like a free for all, chairs on sunbeds too,the manager will not do anything about the problem as it may cause trouble between guests!!!!

This is the first time we have stayed at the Sol Princesa Dacil Hotel. We had a lovely room on the 10th floor, very spacious. Lounge, Bathroom, and bedroom with small balcony, but big enough to sit on and watch the world go by. Very impressed with the size of accomodation, but disappointed that the room smelt of stale cigarette smoke, it was embedded in the furniture, curtains, and bedcovers, being a non-smoker we found that a turn off. We spent the first couple of days buying airfresheners / incense sticks / and sprays. The room had been cleaned to a very high standard and the floor tiles were spotless. I would suggest the hotel considers non-smoking guests as well as smoking guests. The restaurant was very large, as you entered there was plenty of salads, a grill bar section, Betty's Kitchen that did fish & various meats, then a theme bar which changes every night. The desserts were OK, but nothing to rave about, there was fresh fruit available if you did not fancy what was on offer. If you take into account how much you paid for your holiday, staying at the Princesa Dacil is very good value for money. The entertainment was good, and most nights there was a couple of stalls in the foyer selling jewelery, handbags, souvenirs etc. The swimming pool was not enormous, but big enough. If you wanted to sit round the pool you had to be up at the crack of dawn to get your towel on the sunbed, and of course you had some guests laying towels & books on the sunbeds at 8.30am and buzzing off for the rest of the day and returning at 4pm for an hours swim. When really those sunbeds could of been used by other guests which had planned to spend the day by the pool. In the whole week we were there, we just could not get a sunbed, so ended up going to the beach instead. The staff were very friendly, always helpful, and I would go back again in October because the resort was not packed with holiday makers and was very comfortable to stroll around during the day & evening, and of course the weather was absolutely beautiful.

This was our fourth year at the same hotel, we always enjoy everything at the hotel, rooms are spotless, food ther was plenty of variety, entertainment what can I say, the staff are always happy and work so hard to keep guests amused, we always join in the hotel games it is such a laugh, and good fun, it depends on your outlook how you want your holiday to go, so go on be brave have a game of darts or french boules, or archery etc. you will enjoy it and meet a lot of new friends, children are well looked after with their entertainment, Hotel management are always polite and helpful, so what more could anyone want

This is my second time at princesa dacil and loved every minute of it. I found the entertainment the best because they involved babies, children and adults in shows and the day activities.
The shows were brilliant as the entertainers were so funny. You had entertainment all day such as water polo-adults and kids, Water aerobics, pistol shooting for the adults and even a day activity for the kids with the entertainers. I really enjoyed it there and I want to go there for the third time.

I loved the size of the rooms. They have a bathroom and bedroom and a living room that goes out onto the balcony. The views from the balconies were the best overlooking the beach and los cristianos. If you were really high up you could maybe see the whole town.

The food was nice as you had plenty of choices. It has a big restaurant to fit lots of people and the chefs/staff were really pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is situated near the beach and town so it isn't far to walk which is great!!

There are two pools in the hotel. One for the babies and a large pool which has a lifeguard for our safety. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with or without children.
