I have stayed at the Princesa dacil over 5 times in the last 10 years and it is a favourite of mine, definately better than some of the so rated 4 0r 5 star hotels in tenerife. The rooms have been modernised over the years though I wish they would reply the beds - it crippled my back. The rooms are large and airy, comfortable with plently of storage space and good lighting, though if on the lower floors and facing reception and the car park can be very noisy on flight arrival nights and sundays when the dustbin lorries arrive.Ask for a room closest to the main road away from the restaurant or a room with a pool view. I think the view is better if facing the car park as you can see over Los Cristianos but it is noisy at night. The chambermaids are friendly and the rooms cleaned daily, fresh towels daily and clean sheets every couple of days. However there is no set time at which they clean the rooms - anytime from 8am - 4pm and it varies each day so don`t forget your do not disturb sign if you want a lie in!The food was much better this last stay, the restaurant has been revamped and there is plently of choice for dinner and breakfast. The chefs are very abliging if you ask for something not offered. The waiters and waitresses seem overworked at times and rather short staffed but are friendly. A complaint I have is I found the pool bar service very slow, the staff more interested in talking to each other and ignore waiting customers. They have quite an attitude and the prices for soft drinks are actually cheaper from the vending machines in the lift lobby. The location of the hotel must be one of the best in Los Cristianos and the town much nicer than Las Americas, however you can easily walk there along the great prom. I`m surprised at some of the reviews on this and other sites about this hotel. Remember it is only 3 star graded so I think it is great value for that and better than higher graded hotels in the area who are much more impersonal.

As a first time visitor to the Princesa Dacil it was with great trepidation that we put our key in the door to our room on floor 6 after reading some of the reviews. However much to our delight there it was, a spacious bedroom with large wardrobes and drawer space, plus another large room equipped with tv. sofa, coffee table and yet more wardrobe and drawer space. The hotel is very convenient for the beaches, bars, restaurants etc.We liked the large beach along the promenade (Through the tunnel) We didn't sample the evening entertainment in the hotel as we prefer to have a wander around the resort. The North & South bar do good daytime meals and very convenient as it is on the beach. There are loads of bars to choose from, met some really nice people in the Phoenix bar, also the entertainment was good in the Irish Times (Not the football one!!) All in all a very good holiday. As all of the reviews mention, a few more parasoles around the pool would be nice. Also hairdriers should surely be supplied in all rooms in a 3star hotel. Did not see any benches in the dining room as mentioned in one review. Food quite good but not as much choice as many Med. hotels. We would return and Los Cristianos is a very nice resort.

We have been going to Los Cristainos and the Princesca Dacil for the last two years. It is an ideally located hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is pleasant with a varied menu although I wish that they would cook the bacon a little more and on both sides! We normally spend the day at the pool or just wandering along the sea front. In the evenings we usually enjoy going to Dreamers or Chicagos were the entertainment is is good and varied. There are a number of other friendly pubs and the buffets at the smaller Chinese restaurants are excellent value for money. It is our dream holiday destination and we would love to live permanently in Tenerife. The Lottery willing maybe one day we will!!!

Princesa Dacil - Over 70's Butlins

Hotel rooms the smallest I have ever slept in. No air conditioning - but who needs it; it sometimes gets down as low as 15┬║ at night.
The Dining Room - totally disorganized. Various locations for everything-food, knives & forks, bread, butter. Never all that you need in the one place. Many tables set up to make a series of benches - just like Butlins. The breakfast bacon might be described as streaky but there wasn't often any strips of bacon in the pig fat that was on offer. The food generally was poor; so much so that the last two nights of our seven night stay we had had enough and chose to eat at local restaurants.
What we saw of the hotel "entertainment" was unbelievably bad.
Los Christianos is a great resort with plenty of bars and decent entertainment. We had a great holiday and will come back again next November, but The Princesa Dacil has made our minds up that next year will be our first ever self-catering holiday.

We have been staying at Princesa Dacil a couple of times a year for the last 5 years. We always stay November and February which is nice as it is a little quieter but this year we came in September as well. Mind you the weather in November (last week) was much hotter than September!!! Princesa Dacil is in a lovely position near to all amenities. For a 3 star hotel it has everything you could want. The food is ok, service is fine, entertainment is good. It could probably do with some new sunbeds (I have suggested this in the questionaires I fill in every time I go)as there is a mad rush every morning at 8.30 to get the best ones!!! There is a Sunday market just down the road where you can buy most things, it does get a bit crowded though. There are some nice bars and restaurants. We usually have a stroll around the coast passed the harbour (through the tunnel)to Los Americas where there some lovely new shopping centres. In Los Christianos we usually have a drink at the Miners Arms and the Fountain before finishing off at Chicagos along the front who have entertainment on. The looky looky men usually come and have a chat trying to sell watches, lighters etc, we know quite a few and have a few laughs with them. Los Christianos is just the place for couples and children.

Very dissapointing, thats all I can say about this hotel. No air conditioning, from moment you step into the hotel you sweat or perspire depending on which sex you might be, I mean I ask you, do you really want to stand in a cool shower all day to keep cool. Next hygiene :- the staff in the dining room were drenched in sweat and their trousers looked as if they had been worn nonstop for the duration of our stay, maybe even longer. Cleanliness was sorely lacking as far as crockery, cutlery, glassware and tables + the flies, which got me thinking were they a ploy to get us to vacate the dining room quicker than norm. I dread to think what the kitchens must be like. The pool area:- parasols badly need upgrading they were filthy, and not enough of them anyway. The sun terrace, why cant they fix the loose and broken tiles. the general upkeep of the hotel in and out needs to be addressed. Thats about all I have to say about said hotel suffice to say I wont be recommending it to friends or foe (well maybe foe) by the way I just want to point out the problem with touts, just beware cos they pounce out on you from everywhere.

We have been holidaying at the Princesa Dacil for the last 4 years usually a couple of times a year. It has everything you could want , the food is plentiful and varied, lots of entertainment if you want to stay in the hotel. It is situated near to the heart of Los Christianos which has lots of loveley shops and pubs.We usually have a bit of banter with the lucky lucky men who tend to know us now after visiting so often. You can stroll along the coast to Los Americas which over the last couple has really improved with losts of loveley shops and arcades.
