Top Local Tips for Sevilla
Eating and Drinking in Tiriana We stayed across the river in Tiriana, and found that there was no need to go back to the centre in the evening because there were so many places to eat and drink. If you don't speak Spanish then you will need something to help you with menus in the less posh places, but we didn't worry too much about language. It was surprising to see that the locals all drank beer or tinto de verano, which is a mixture of red wine and soda over a lot of ice. It is a great hot weather drink, and really cheap ( the most we paid was 1 euro 70). The only people we saw buying bottles of wine were English or American. Tiriana has some great tapas bars including Casa Cuesta, O Tapas Albahaca and Sol e Sombre - all of these have plenty of detail on the web- ,and some classy restaurants like Rio Grande and Kiosko de las Flores where they have menus in Englsh if you need it. There are plenty of places to drink outside, and a really lively atmosphere, and absolutely no tourist traps.
Drinks in room There was no tea/coffee making facility in room. We bought a small kettle from the duty free shop in departure airport and purchased some tea bags and milk from local supermarket. When we got back from sightseeing or did not want to go down to breakfast we made our own drinks and saved a fortune.
