Great hotel.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights in May. It was clean, furnished to a high standard, and the location is ideal. We brought a bottle of champagne with us, and one night we got 2 glasses and an ice bucket from the bar and drank our champagne in the lovely courtyard. It was just bliss. The only drawback is that the halls are noisy due to marble floors. So you might get woken up at night. But not a major problem. The staff were great when we were there. Request a room overlooking the courtyard.

Stay here - great location and lovely hotel

Just returned from 3 nights at this hotel and absolutely loved it. It's in a great location, views from the roof terrace are lovely and eating breakfast in the courtyard is just lovely (you have to get up early to get a table though!). Recommend booking seats to see flamenco at Casa de la Memoria in Barrio Santa Cruz - mesmerising performance. Don't miss the great little tapas bar round the corner from the hotel either (turn left out of the hotel and walk to the end of the street and turn left - look for the purple octopus). It's called El Rincon Gallego del Pulpo and has a purple octopus on the sign over the door - the octopus is lovely and the staff are really helpful and friendly.

We just returned from 3 days in Seville at the La Rabida. Great hotel - rooftop restaurant is open from 8:30-11:30pm with unbeatable views of the cathedral. Most of the folks we met there, stayed there after reading the reviews on this website. We were originally booked at the Las Casas de la Juderia - glad we made the move here. Pluses: free high speed internet in the room, quiet location, good breakfast (14 euros), comfortable, close to the bull ring and the river. My only complaints - it is getting hot in Seville now (it was 90 degrees this week) and the air conditioning is struggling - get a room on a lower floor in the main part of the hotel as it seems to work better. Also, we were on the 4th floor and got noise from the restaurant above but they close at 11:30pm and then it is quiet. I would definitely stay here again!! I recommend that you get the Seville Card - it gives you free access to all museums and attractions as well as a guided tour of the Alcazar, boat trip and Seville sightseeing bus -it is more expensive if you buy these all seperately.

Beautiful hotel

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. We paid 116 euros per night through orbitz. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The hotel has a beautiful lobby with a skylight, and a beautiful central terrace which is great for the huge continental breakfast, a drink, or dessert.

The rooms are large, with a nice bathroom. The rooms have spanish tile flooring. **Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the central terrace.**

PROS: Beautiful hotel. Large rooms with great decor. Location is fantastic, minutes from the Catedral, Alcazar, and Barrio Santa Cruz. The bar/terrace on the rooftop overs wonderful views of the Catedral. Too bad they never seem to use it (tried several times to get a drink up there and never found the bar open).

CONS: The hotel has a weird layout, where we had to go up one flight then walk through the hotel, then down another flight of stairs to get to our room. The breakfast IS included. They didn't inform us of this or mention the breakfast at checkin so we missed it the first day.

The front desk staff were pretty rude and offered little help. But the staff in the restaurant were great.

Great choice

Just returned from a few days in Andalucia and can thoroughly recommend the Vincci La Rabida hotel.

Plus points :
- very centrally located on a quiet side street - easy to walk to the Cathedral and main sites
- building very atmospheric, with the lobby area situated in the "inner courtyard"
- staff polite and smartly dessed
- roof top terrace, with loungers and even a jacuzzi (although not working in March), afforded good views over the city
- extensive breakfast in a grand dining room - (alternatively can be taken outdoors in the patio garden)

Minus points :
- bedrooms not over-large and views from the rooms must vary - but this is obviously an old building

One point to mention - if you visit in Holy Week before Easter, be prepared for total chaos - the streets outside get packed solid and to cross a road requires determination and/or lengthy detours. However, sitting on the roof terrace and listening to the bands play below added an extra dimension to the holiday.

okey...we've selected this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews and stayed for 5 nights in march of 05.
location is superb. building itself is wonderful. staff was very helpful and accomodating (more on that later). breakfast was good (we couldn't get the inclusive rate, so we had to get breakfast elsewhere most of the mornings. however, the day of departure we had no time to go out and ate in the hotel, which was quite good). generally, no complaints or problems at all.
now, somehow we had an impression that we need to request a room with a bed for two vs. the typical two double beds you get in europe. so, i started the email campaign about a month in advance (all emails were replied to, but no specific promises to meet our requests were made). Apparently, there are very few rooms with queen sized beds in the hotel (something like 4 or 5). Anyhow, upon arrival I again asked to get one. (I should've known better! :) and they were able to accomodate. Unfortunately, those few rooms are quite tiny and I felt a little stupid to ask to change it again. Should've taken a room with two beds and enjoy the extra space! :)
In short, excellent hotel. Definitely recommended!

Great hotel, wonderful location

Spent 4 nights in this hotel over Easter period. Found hotel lived up to website description, wonderful reception/lobby area with full height atrium.

Room was well laid out with everything required.

Hotel kept spotlessly clean. Staff were all very friendly

Location is superb in a quiet street yet, a short walk from Cathedral and main sights.

Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Booked on internet and got rate of 116 Euros double room including breakfast. Nice room looking onto inner court yard. Breakfast really good continental buffet with fresh orange juice and fresh fruit and usual meat,cheese, breads and pastries. This was a really nice, well presented. Had one evening meal. Fine but the restaurant lacks atmosphere in the evening..
Rooftop has nice views of city with bar, not open in March, with chairs and loungers. Plunge pool is tiny.
Good central location, five minutes to cathedral. We had a good stay here.

We booked on the Internet for 99euros. I was a little nervous about the construction of the building beside the hotel, but we were not bothered by any noise. We had a room on the first floor overlooking the winter garden. It was very quiet and suited us very nicely. The hotel is great for walking around. If you turn left, you will get some nice coffee shops etc. We didn't pay for the hotel breakfast, but rather visited some local breakfast places. The hotel parked the car for us. Very, very nice and good value.

Once in the hotel, we also had a bit of a treck to get to our room - up the lift, across the hallways, down the stairs and we also got a white wall outside our window - which is not the best of sites. We peeked to the room opposite when the maid was cleaning and they had a beautiful view overlooking the centre part of the hotel garden - so you must ask for a view! Alghough we did request this when booking on-line but it was obviously ignored - our fault for not persevering. The room was really nice and clean, and also quiet. The staff were friendly and the location is really great - 5 mins walk to the Cathedral, 2 mins to the Bullring and river. Overall, I'd rate this hotel 6/10.

Top Local Tips for Sevilla

Driving in Seville Driving to Seville from Malaga was simple....until you arrive in Seville. There are a lot of roadworks ongoing, as well as bus/taxi lanes that are hard to avoid when battling with traffic. My tip would be to find a centrally located hotel such as the Vinnci La Rabida, park the car and forget about it for the rest of the time in Seville. We arrived on a bright Sunday afternoon and took a few attempts to get to our destination...avoid arriving at night or in peak times if at all possible!

Taxi from airport Tha cost on the journeys to and from the airport to the Vincci la Rabida were exactly the same ie.27euros although one was made at 21.00 and the other at 18.30 hrs.

Timing Be aware that a LOT of people in Seville go to the bullfights.Check finishing times if you are going to be on the streets as it is akin to getting caught up in a departing football crowd!
