Good hotel in central location

We visited this hotel in September 2005 when the weather was still very hot. It is a very comfortable hotel with two pleasant outside courtyards, in a quiet but central location. The room was a good size with a large modern en-suite bathroom. Both the room and the public areas were spotlessly clean. I would certainly consider staying here again.

Great place for the right price

We only stayed for 1 night but the hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and eager to help you with whatever you need. It is a little hard to find through the narrow streets but it's worth it. Just keep looking for signs on the walls / street corners.

Close to most tourist spots and bus station. Beds are firm but comfortable. This will be my hotel when visiting Seville.

Excellent Hotel

Perfect place to stay for active trips. Great place for a reasonable price. It is convenient to most major tourist activities in the city. The rooms are nice and we recently remodeled. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Excellent Place in the Old Center

Very nice little hotel. We were lucky as we had two rooms in the 'VIP' area which is basically around a little courtyard in the back which looks beautiful. Staff were super friendly and very helpful.
When coming by car make sure you have a very good route description as the old center is really hard to navigate (tiny streets and lots of one ways).
Location is great if you want to walk through the old part of town.

We stayed at the Cervantes for two nights. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable.

The hotel is at a very convenient location and is only a 10 minute walk to the Catedral once you figure out the narrow alleys in Sevilla. We got lost the first time and had to end up taking a taxi to the Catedral area. The breakfast was OK but was somewhat pricey at 10 Euro per head. We ended up walking over to the nearest Cafe de Indias for breakfast after the first day. All in all it was a pleasant experience and we would definitely stay here again.

Don't even think about a car in Sevilla, you don't need it if you stay at the Cervantes. Very easy walking distance to all the major sites. Map in the lobby so you can find your way as all the streets in the main part of town are twisty, turny. Carmen was wonderful in setting up a reservation at our next hotel and at the Alhambra in Granada. Very clean, great continental breakfast buffet.

We enjoyed the hotel and we were able to walk to the Cathedral and restaurants. Our room was very quiet and quite large. However, if you are driving, it is impossible to find the hotel. We asked directions 5 times and finally a business man got in our car and directed us where to go. We were only a block away, but there is no way we could have gotten there on our own.

We stayed here for 1 night on May the 3rd, 2005. It was very difficult to find, even with a map, and when we finally arrived, the hotel reception said there was no place in the garage and we must go to park in a public car park (impossible to find !). Our triple (we have a 12 years daughter) was very small with a view over the dustbins (very noisy during the night). Breakfast was not good. And finally, we discovered that the price we paid (internet reservation : 192 euros) was the double of the price proposed by the reception (85 euros). They refused to reimburse us for the difference !

I stayed here for 3 nights in Dec 03, there was NO heating other than a small electrical fan, which did not always work properly, I got the worst cold of my life. You can imagine what it is like to try to take a shower when there is a whole in the roof and the wind is coming in.... Other than that, the hotel is very pretty, old-fashioned.. Take a thermal suit if you go during the winter. :)

Good location, decent price, but tough to find

A standard Best Western 3-star with extremely friendly staff. Our double room was very comfortable, very clean, and spacious by European standards. The only problem was finding it at first, especially since we drove into Sevilla. If you drive there, make sure you have a good map that shows one-way streets and pedestrianized streets. We had to stop and ask for directions several times.

Top Local Tips for Sevilla

Taxi to/from the airport The fixed price is from 1.January 2007 is 20.78 euros, so never pay more than this. They dont use the meter, because the tarif is fixed, and it is displayed in their window also. Cheap alternative: the bus EA for 2.40 euros to the train station, or downtown.

Santa Marta Although it's only a local bar/cafe, Cafe Santa Marta was consistantly great.

Fantastic Tapas at these places Its a must to go for tapas at the Taverna Coloniales on Calle Dormitorio - especially the Pan de Casa - toasted bread with gaspacho and local meat on top, sounds weird but its delicious, and the place next to Bar Alfafa in Alfafa Square great for Boquerones - fish with some delicious sauce on top of little pieces of bread beautifully presented, probably some of the best tapas you will find here and at a very reasonable price. Its never worth ordering half portions - always go for tapas as its much cheaper but the portion size isnt much different. if you are a student its worth taking your card as you get into the tourist sites for a reduced price/free. Oh and I wouldnt take heels - the cobbles will prove a nightmare and also probably ruin them. The gardens near the Plaza de Espana are a must do, such a sanctuary of peace in a busy city.
