My husband and I have just returned from a 3 night stay in this quite superb hotel. Everything was outstanding we are definitley going to go back again (frequently, I hope)

The refurbishment pf Hotel Victoria in 2004 made a very good hotel excellent - in style, comfort, service and friendliness. We look forward to our annual visit there with even greater pleasure and anticipation.

Top Local Tips for Santander

Airport Bus, public transport, dining. There is an airport bus if you arrive at a normal time. Leaves airport at 6.40am and the last leaves the airport at 23.00. They run about every 30 minutes approximately. The first from Santander bus station to the Airport is 06.30 and the the last from the bus station to the airport is 22.45. Hardly costs anything 1 euro 50 or something. Takes about 20 minutes. You may need to get a normal bus to your destination hotel from there if it is near Playa Sardinero not near the port (which is near the bus station). Normal buses are frequent and dead cheap also. Restaurants; if you dont mind treating yourselves to a posh dinner - theres a really nice restaurant called DELUZ, address; Romon y Cajal, 18. It will cost you around £50 for two but you wont experience anything like it. They speak perfect English too! Its in a large houseon a road in a very affluent area near Playa Sardinero, near the petrol pump and the delicatessan, but it is accessible from the other end of town.

Buy a bus pass Buy a Bonus Bus ticket from any tobacconist shop or stall for 5.80 euros. It is valid for 10 X 1 euro bus rides. Bus rides are a flat 1 euro wherever you go on the local buses. The service is very good.

Use the buses mercilessly - they're great Any trip to anywhere on the route costs 1 euro but you can nearly halve that by buying a bonobus ticket for 10 trips from any tobacconist. The buses are frequent, fast and efficient. A neat touch is that many stops have a display showing the waiting time for all the buses on that route. No uncertainty here!
