Great staff, freezing pool

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the playa park and had little to complain about. The staff were great, the kids clubs were really good and the hotel was clean and well looked after. Our complaints would be the food seemed to get worse the longer we were there. The pool was unbearably good, I mean freezing cold. My 4 year old was blue after about 20 minutes so we spent more time at the beach - a small one 10 minutes and 80 steps away was lovely a lot quieter than the main beach much easier to watch young children. We also had tickets to port aventura theme park which was brilliant loads of different things to do and see most rides are a bit big for younger children so you have to get on with them, but the shows are amazing - a must see.

This hotel is brilliant, do not hesitate to book.... amazing value for money. The rooms are clean with excellent views over the sea. The entertainment is excellent and the staff were so helpful. Everything is so close with a beach 2 mins away and the main centre a mere 5-10 minute walk. Only had the food there one night and it was good. There is a bus stop right outside and this takes you to Aquapolis, one down the street takes you to Port Aventura... and coming back you can get off the bus right outside the hotel. The street is literally round the corner from the hussle and bussle but far enough away to be quiet enough. The shops and bars/restraunts up and down the street the hotel is on are great especially 'Richards Tavern' where we ate most of the time, excellent prices and excellent food. I honestly cannot fault one thing about this hotel...

Security Issue

The hotel was clean, well located and served a good variety of food. However, a major loophole in the hotel's security procedures tainted my holiday. Keys were given out at request, requiring no proof of identification. During my stay, a high number of thefts took place, including 60 Euros from my room, jewelery, an ipod, a mobile phone and a wallet from others. When we complained, hotel staff treated as a matter of insignificance, we were told it "was not there problem". On my last night at Salou, the spare key to my room was given out to an unknown person. This was clearly very upsetting, resulting in my roommates and I feeling very unsafe.

Fantastic hotel, food to die for!!

This was the first time my boyfriend & i went for a half board hotel, it was totally worth the extra £10 each for the week, the food was fantastic, fresh, fully stocked & friendly staff. The hotel was kept very clean, staff were very help full & the entertainment was great. Highly recommened to all.

Great service, very nice staff

This is the third time I have visited this hotel. It gets better every year. No problem with groups of young people. Rooms are cleaned everyday. Food is always of a high standard and plenty to go round. Beach just outside the hotel. Shop’s a 5 min walk. No noise at night. I would say a family hotel lots to do for children and adults. Two nice sized swimming pools. Plenty of tables and chairs to sit around. Schools seem to use this hotel to take groups of children to but in the 3 years I've been going not had no problems with them. Teachers sit on landing all night to make sure they don’t roam the hotel. Better behaved than some adults. Can’t wait till October till I go back.

I went to Salou in July 2006 with my auntie and we stayed in the Golden Playa Park and I must admit I have been to Salou for many years and stay in different hotels but for the first time ever this hotel was the best. I made friends from the hotel (bar and restaurant) and went out with three of them on the very last night, I still keep in contact so its all very good, so anyone who wants to go to Salou, its a dream and stay in the golden playa park because there is lots to do like chilling by both pools and listening to the children enjoy themselves at there very own parties!!!

Great Holiday for young kids

We travelled with two two year old and had a great holiday. Staff were really friendly. Although on a hill you really don't seem to mind a walk down into salou. Quiet hotel for those with little ones. Food was FANTASTIC I have the pickiest husband and never a night went by that he couldnt find something to eat. Pool was a bit cold but what do you expect in May, Looking to go back June 07 the best holiday for a long time.

Good Family Holiday

Situated approx 10 minutes from main busy town centre. Glad hotel was where it was. Beach 3 minutes walk away down 150 steps, but worth the trip down. Beach not as crowded as the main beach in Salou. Hotel food excellent with good choice. Facilities really clean. Entertainment very good during the day and night. Would highly recommend it for young families.

The playa park hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Salou is a great resort for the whole family to enjoy and there are endless things to do there.

I went to the Golden Playa Park on the 3rd of may 2005 for 2 weeks. I got back just over a week ago. I went with my mother and my 3 brothers. Me and my mum are going back in october because we loved it that much. Migeal is the best! i'm normally quite shy but he made me get up and dance most nights! Loved it. Me and my mum did karoake loads even though we aint very good but oh well. They had a juggler on he was good. They also had a mexican, flemincos, country, western and disco night. They were all wicked and I can't wait to go back!
