Hotel was lovely, The rooms were basic but very clean. Food was great especially the soups & steaks! Majority of staff in hotel were lovely except 1 lady in reception who was just totally unapproachable & looked at you as if you had 2 heads when you spoke to her.Pool was great! Evening mini disco was great for kids. The entertainer Simon was absolutely fabulous with them! would go back again in a minute.

My faviourite holiday ever

This was my favourite holiday ever. The rooms were a bit basic but still large and spacious. The food was ok, the desserts were really good. The staff looked a bit miserable but there when we need help or advice. The location is great near the beach shops and Port Adventura. Overall, this was an enjoyable stay and I would love to go again!!

Absolutely awful

I went when the British Sports tour was there, but out of all the mischief that went on, the hotel and staff made it so much worse. The plugs were right next to the light switch, so if an adaptor was used it would turn the light on in the room. We had no electricity at all the first night and took over 5 hours for some reason to get it back on (so much fun getting ready in the dark-when everyone elses rooms were fine). The maid stole our own towels as well as taking the hotel ones. The clean ones did not smell nice. They also kicked our neighbours out of their rooms in the morning so they could clean (so much for a relaxing holiday), and they were also extremely rude. The food was cold by the time it was 7.15pm and the dining room only opened at 7. We didnt know what half of the food was. I thought I had spaghetti bolognaise but it was actually tuna, something what looked like onion rings were actually squid and something that actually looked like a chicken nugget (well I don't know what it was -could have been fish, chicken or something scraped off the floor). The staff were totally unwelcoming and always looked miserable and were not friendly at all. By the way NO flip flops at dinner time (quite annoying when we were NOT told that and we had to take the stairs back to floor 5). Also half the staff could NOT understand English, which is rather bad when half of their guests were British travellers. If any damage happens on the floor you are on you can not guarantee that you will get all of your deposit back either, as I lost 10 euros due to some damage which actually happened on another floor (we did a collection of 300 guests of a euro each to pay for it by the way and they still took 10euros each from all of us-totally unneccessary) I would totally recommend A DIFFERENT hotel. The only thing that looked good was the pools, but due to the weather they were not used-but I did notice their were no parasols at all, even if the weather was good. ALL in all-BAD service BAD food and hotel.

Good hotel, friendly staff

We had a great holiday in Salou and cal/gards was a good location for shops and bars. Hotel food was really good and staff good. Only down side was all night disco next door - don’t forget earplugs. Say hello to Charlie & Annie in hole in the wall bar.

Awful food!

Terrible hotel the staff where horrible, my mobile was stolen by the maid and the response was, these things happen! The food was awful and it was full or old rude Spanish guest who thought you were dirt because you where not Spanish. I would not go back to this hotel again if someone held a gun to my head. Salou however is excellent, best place ever.

Noisy and unpleasant

As hotels go, this was not a great one, but did have some good things about it. So ill start with the negatives, the majority of the reception staff seemed unwelcoming and miserable most of the time and you almost felt like a burden when you approached them as they never smiled. We never got the room that we booked i.e. we booked a twin room which should ideally sleep 3; their solution was to stick a camp bed in which was not ideal for an adult. The rooms are very small and it’s a case of taking turns to walk along the room to get to the bathroom and balcony. The rooms are very basic and we had a plug which was hanging of the wall, which was never fixed. The worst thing about the hotel is the noise level, the walls seem to be made of paper and you can hear everything your neighbour gets up to, and what the brochure fails to tell you is that the hotel is next to ‘Flash Back’ which on a Friday and Saturday night turns into ‘rave’ for the locals so you are graced with a thumping noise from about 1 till 6 in the morning, as there is no soundproof against the racket. So if you unlucky enough to face the pool side, then you will hear it thumping away. On the plus side the hotel rooms where kept immaculacy clean. The food even though got a bit repetitive by the end of the week was nice and there was generally a good selection available considering how many people they have to cater for. The pool area was nice and kept clean, they never had parasols which I think is essential for when it gets to hot. The hotel is in a central location so it’s easy to get to the beach and shops which are minutes away. Overall the noise is the hotels biggest downfall, but I did enjoy my stay there.
