That good, we are on our third visit!

On the good side, and in my opinion the hotel is superb in most aspects. Food choice and quality can't be bettered. The staff are all friendly,and the rooms were as you would expect from a Thomson Gold, except as below. We had a lovely quiet and relaxing time which is what we wanted. On the poor side, there are about 100 steps just over the road from the hotel, leading into town. Not so good if you are physically limited. The lower floor rooms we felt were poor, the secret here is to ask for a room with a mountain view when booking, this will prevent you staying in the lower floors which face away from the mountain. Although not hotel related, it is worth a mention, don't be put off by Puerto de la Cruz being on the North of the island, we found it just as sunny and far greener than the south. Also, there were practically no time share or ticket touts, and we felt safe and relaxed in town at all times. I would go again with no hesitation.

Arrived just after midnight, directed down two flights of stairs in the dark, no lift to this area we were told. Air-conditioning does not work, paint was peeling off the bath, fridge did not work, view over waste-ground strewn with debris and a cockerel which woke everyone at 4.30am. Rooms not inspected between lets as found shoes belonging to a previous occupant under the bed. Thomson advertise this as 4 star gold and its nowhere near it! Dreadful.
