The shopping centres.... Beware for fake i-pods being passed off as genuine...in many small technology/camera shops we found that they were displaying real i-pods but they tried to sell us a fake one at a "special discounted price". When my partner asked to buy the real one, in one shop the man actually refused to sell it to him and continued to try and force the fake upon us! Plus, make sure your clued up on English prices of technological things (e.g.camera's, memory cards etc) before you go, as they do try and rip you off! We found that the men at the market stalls were very forceful, bordering on just being plain rude, and they liked to pick on me being a young, 19 year old girl, and at one point I was actually grabbed by one of them (this was at Yumbo)! At first we were polite to them, but you soon realise that if your friendly and chatty they don't leave you alone so it's best to just completely ignore them if they try calling you over and persuading you to buy things etc!
