I went with my mum and it was nice during the day, but at night it was a bit noisy with sounting and singing!! The entertainment was OK! The bar was very good, you could get all sorts of drinks! It was very hot at night and I stayed in the Habana hotel bit and there was no air con. Just a little fan that didn't do much, but apart from that it was good!

I went to Palma bay club hotel with my mum 2 years ago. We had heard some bad reviews of the hotel and area but these were all wrong, it was the best holiday I can remember! Myself being 15 at the time and my mum 40 we had different ideas of what a holiday should be but Palma bay catered for both of us. I am a vegetarian, so was worried there wouldn’t be food for me, but the selection was brilliant for meat eaters and vegetarians. The weather was around 40C when we were staying, the rooms had no air-con, but we hired a fan and it was plenty cool enough to sleep in. the pools were always clean, the only problem being some guests left their towels on the sun loungers at around 5am! But the pool staff removed them so it was fair. The bar served everything and anything my mum could think of having! The evening entertainment was your typical family hotel stuff, but it was still made enjoyable but the hotel entertainment staff. Overall I would recommend the Palma bay club hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing or action packed holiday.

My partner and I and two children aged 7 and 9 stayed at the palms bay club in may 2004, we loved it, the food is 1st class the breakfast was wicked. The rooms where very small but you don’t stay in them only to sleep so we wasn’t too concerned. The bars where well managed with plenty choices with decent lager, (San Miguel and Kronenberg).the night time entertainment was good for the kids and us with high prize bingo and sing-alongs and stuff. The weather was ok but very cold at night so take a fleece! As the indoor bars are poor. The beach is 5mins walk away and very nice and the sea is excellent for swimming in, you can walk out for about 100m before it gets above head height. The only real complaint I had was that Arenal itself was very German orientated and found them very unfriendly but with free beer to go at the hotel who cares

I went to Palma Bay Club on 21st June 2005 and really enjoyed my holiday, the weather was lovely and if you go all inclusive the drinks are really good, Malibu and coke was my fave, and dont worry, the ice is imported so it is safe to have. The entertainment was a downfall if you are about 17 - 29 because its for kids to begin with then, and there was bingo, which you could hardly hear. The 'cookie' song which was the song for the tiger to come out for the kids was very annoying when we reached the end of the holiday. Our hotel room was in the Hawaii block and was clean but smelt of smoke as the people who slept there last must have smoked, the only place you can get away from smoking was in the restaurant, this was tidy and very clean, the food was ok for people who like to try different things and there was lots of different varieties, I mainly ate chips, pasta and onions!!. The puddings were nice too. There are 6 different pools around the complex and there is 1 adult pool, which was an adult pool at the beginning of the holiday but by the end of the holiday the kids had taken over. There are plenty of things to do in El Arenal for example jet skiing, I did not enjoy that but some people might, there were plenty of shops the downside was people asking me if I wanted my hair braided in Spanish & if I declined they would talk about me in Spanish which made me uneasy. The beach is lovely but the sea is rocky, so be careful. Breakfast is between 8am and 10 am, lunch is between 1pm and 3pm and tea is between 7pm and 9:30pm. There is a snack bar which is open from 10 am and 11pm if you feel peckish. There is also a pool bar and BBQ by the adult bar. The pool bar serves pizza from 1pm and 3pm which was nice as we didnt have to walk far. Overall the only things wrong with the hotel was the smoking and roudy Germans/Austrians banging on doors at 5 oclock but I guess they were on holiday too. One of the receptionists was a 'Manuel' from Faulty Towers as he didnt speak much English and when I asked for the safe key he told me that breakfast was between 8am and 10am!!! Soo funny, the other receptionists speak some English though and will be happy to call you a taxi if needed. A good holiday overall. :)
